Proper use of force

How anyone can do what this down worm food POS did is beyond me, I'm sending the police department a thank you card.

TURLOCK -- A Turlock man was fatally shot by police as he kicked, punched and stomped a young toddler to death in front of horrified motorists who tried to stop the attack on a dark country road, authorities said.
Investigators were trying Sunday to establish the relationship between the 27-year-old suspect and the dead child. The Stanislaus County coroner said the boy appeared to be between 1 and 2 years old based on his size, according to county sheriff's deputy Royjindar Singh.
"It's been a long night of wondering why, not only for the officers and the passers-by who stopped and tried to help out, but for anyone. Why would somebody do this?" Singh said.
The suspect had a child's car seat in the back of his four-door pickup truck, which caught the attention of an elderly couple at 10:13 p.m. Saturday because it was stopped in the two-lane road facing the wrong direction, Singh said.
As they got closer, the couple saw the man brutally beating the toddler behind his truck and throwing the child on the ground, according to Singh. Two or three other cars stopped, an unusual number to be passing through the remote area surrounded by a dairy, a cow pasture, a cornfield and a farmhouse, he said.
"What we got from witnesses is he was punching, slapping, kicking, stomping, shaking," Singh said. "They tried to intervene and get involved, but their efforts really didn't have an effect. The suspect was engaged in what he was doing. He just pushed them off and went back to it."
A sheriff's helicopter responding to emergency calls from the area landed in a cow pasture at 10:19 p.m. carrying a Modesto police officer who shot the man to death after he refused an order to stop beating the child, Singh said.
Paramedics tried to resuscitate the toddler, who was not breathing when they arrived. The boy was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Singh said the coroner does not plan to confirm the identities of the suspect and victim until Monday. Because his injuries were so severe, the child will have to be identified through a blood or DNA test, according to Singh.
No children within the dead boy's age range have been reported kidnapped or missing in Stanislaus County, he said.
The incident happened on Bradbury Road about 10 miles west of Turlock, a city located about halfway between Sacramento and Fresno.

I wish I hadn't read this post. This is an example of a situation where I would overlook my moral beliefs about murder. If I had seen this I would have beat that guy with whatever I found in the area. I can't help but picture my kids that are about that age and wonder what could possibly have been so horrible that he reacted in that manner. I imagine he lost his patience with a crying toddler in the back seat that wasn't responding to his screaming at them to shut-up.

That's horrible as well, but the toddler was defenseless and looking to that POS for comfort and help for EVERYTHING.

This is FAR worse than the "shaken baby syndrome" pamphlets they give to new parents to warn them of the dangers of not keeping your anger in check.

What evil humans are capable of has long ceased to surprise me. People are going to have to work very hard to shock me. Back in WWII, the Jap soldiers would do a version of trap shooting. Their buddy would throw up a baby and they would try skewer it with their Katanas

I can only pray that there is a special place in hell for people that hurt children. Maybe it's no surprise that there are people depraved enough to do things like that, but I will never be callous enough to be unaffected.

It's a pity they couldn't have killed the bastard in time. Now if one of those good citizens had been armed things might have worke out better for the child.

I don't think so. IIRC, if you believe in hell, hell is just hell. There are no different areas.

Actually, I believe that hell is the absolute absence of God and heaven is being in the full presence of God. My limited and emotionally charged human understanding of things makes me think there should be more suffering for people like the child killer.

EDIT: Probably because this area of my house ISN'T made of glass.

That is one way people have looked at it.

Supposedly, if you are in the absence of God, you are being punished to the max. Kinda of a "One Punishment Fits All" deal.

My only regret here is that the worthless POS couldn't have been taken into custody alive, where he could later be slowly beaten to death while handcuffed and restrained. I'm sure a guy like this would "resist arrest". I'd have loved for him to get a taste of the sheer terror and helplessness that poor child felt before dying. Shot to death is too damn good for him.
