But I don't necessarily think religion should be taught in public school, but since I pay for it and don't use it, I could care less if it actually is being taught.

Think more along the lines of the kid in K(ha!)ollege who flunked out his first semester because he never had a beer before and drank himself into a .00GPA.

I don't disagree with most of this--some of it pretty obviously fits with what I have posted, but don't tell those stupid Jesuit High grads I grew up with that seem to all practice medicine or hold the title of CEO.

If I understand the degree correctly, the field of study for the degree is somewhat limited in it's scope to Christianity, which means that he could be "riffing" on quite a few other theologies.

I've never been to his class, but I know he doesn't go to church and drinks a lot of bourbon on the weekends

Wait a minute... you mean you missed out on declining latin verbs...and don't appreciate the intrinsic value that lies therein?

Amo, amas, amat......

What better training for CEO's and doctors than learning the Dead Language?

No, strange story about that. I apparently have developed a sporadic allergic reaction to bourbon (and no I don't break out in a bunch of *********s). My doctor and my MD FIL have it as well, and say it is quite common (esters, maybe?). One straight tanker and my face and throat get red about every third time I try it, so I have given it up as a staple. I don't start breathing bad, ect....but not interested in poking the monkey. I try it occasionally, and am told it may go away.

I DID however split a fifth of Pyrat Cask Rum with a guy a couple of weeks ago over some oysters and venison tenderloin. I would never (well, maybe once a year) spread that kind of cash for my regular drink, but my it was grand.

Thanks for reminding me about Blantons: I'll put it on my Christmas list

Man, Millsaps & Emory. The guy is a freaking genius. I could only dream my kids would have teachers like that in public school. I'm lucky if they got out of Prairieville A&M.

Well, sorry to hear that. At least the issue doesn't trespass across the other available methods of communion. Better get some anyway though, when you risk it again, as you inevitably will, it might as well be for a good reason.
