I never thought it was a very good design. Cool for sure, but in a heavy rain the W126 had a better system.

I also love how MB hid the wipers on the 126.

I loved the W140's wiper set up. It has the same extending arm as the W210, but with a tag along second wiper...with an air foil on it! Clearly its ment for Autobahn speeds!

Like everything else on a W140 way over engineered.

One of the things I loved about the monowiper was that once it left inevitable streaks on the windshield, all the streaks across the main section of the windshield were in a straight line which minimalized that "star filter" effect. Anyone have a clue what I'm talking about??

And yet the blades are still easy to change

Yeah, but the above statement assumes it is equally important to clear all parts of the windshield. I think it is an obvious red herring. It is much more important to clear the windshield in front of the driver. The further away from the driver, the less important. How often do you look out the far lower corner of the passenger side of the windshield while driving?

Love the mono, my only complaint was the incredibly short blade life. We used to replace it twice a year, before somebody pointed me at Silblades.

While I don't see it at their site now, I could have sworn they came with a 5 year warranty when I bought. Regardless, heading into year 3, they still work like new.
