Weaver wrote a book in which he had nothing but praise for all of those guys. I think his quote about all of sudden being a genius coach referred to Frank Robinson, but my memory might be off on that.

Weaver and Palmer were quite a pair, always butting heads. In his book, though, Weaver has the highest praise for Palmer.

I really liked Weaver's book: http://www.amazon.com/Weaver-Strategy-Classic-Managing-Baseball/dp/1574884247/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1230677158&sr=8-1

Weaver advocated the Money Ball approach decades before anyone heard of the term.

All oriole greats--except that "Ripken" must be daddy Cal, as The HOF Ripken was just a kid at that time.

If Jerry Jones continues to undermine his puppet of a coach, that team will struggle because the players do not respect anything.

Look at TO, he gets 15 minutes of airtime after every game, win or lose, and just says the most ridiculous things, week after week.

Someone with balls needs to step in and say shut the fock up ahole!

The coach certainly cannot!

That's one of the problems over in big D.

Parcells is probably happy he left that zoo.

The Eagles signed TO to a 7 yr. 49 million contract in 2004. He has a great year, breaks a legs, rehabs quickly and plays like a stud in the Super Bowl. Has the town in the palm of his hands.

Then: He fires his agent, signs Drew Rosenhaus as his new agent and demands to renegotiate his contract. His career in Philly is over a few months later. Coincidence? At a news conference in TO's driveway:
Question: "What have you done for TO other than get him suspended four games and kicked off the team?"
D.R.: "Next Question"

I question a lot of what Andy Reid does with the Eagles, but I salute him and Jeff Lurie for giving Owens the heave-ho. The lunatics can't run the asylum.

Sorry, Miami Fans, but that game wasn't as close as the score. The ravens punished the fins until they lost the will to play.
Best quote was " Reed is the best center fielder in the NFL" Did you see the downfield block by Ngata on the run back? Wow! That Dolphin earned the Ravens' respect for getting up after that hit.

With Indy out, most Ravens' fans see no team that is unbeatable. That doesn't mean the Raven WILL win every game, or even the next one, but Ravens and their fans feel that every game is, at least, winnable.

Remember that "defense wins championships". Combine that with our no-longer-a-rookie quarterback, and things are looking very good for the Baltimore Ravens.

Congrads to the other winners. Lets play some football!

I can't believe Pennington threw so many interceptions. That was embarrasing.

That was an asswhoopin no doubt.

The Fins still had a good season and even I would have been surprised if they had pulled that one out.

It was close until Ed Reed returned that int for a TD. That seemed to suck whatever life the fins had in them.

The Ravens defense has been top 5-10 for 10 years straight. Very impressive.

At times it looked as if they had extra guys on the field, they're freakin fast as hell.

Pennington did make a couple of bad throws, but the ravens made some great plays out there.

We'll see next year!

^^^ pretty much right on.

I still can't believe how high the Eagles have come and how far the Cowboys have fallen.

Eagles @ Giants next week. Should be a great game.

GO GIANTS!!!!!

If Ed Reed could be hated I would hate him, but he can't be. He is good odds at being the best safety in the game for any stretch you care to measure, and he doesn't seem as low down of character as the average Raven... ...

And yet he failed to get even a single vote as defensive player of the year.

I've said more than I should have already. Death to the Ravens!
