i agree with the sentiment. for awhile there were some smatterings of funny posts, jokes and three words stories and whatnot, but the political tide came in and drowned them. i haven't been here long enough to remember what you're talking about, but i remember discovering the OD before the election, and it was entertaining and humorous. now it's just straight down party line bickering. blah! give me car pics, people and pet pics, jokes, and limericks!

mindless entertainment, huzzah!

Yep.

Hey WVO,

I tried my best to lighten the mood, but there aren't enough mullets, neck beards and underwear made of beef jerky to make a difference.

I used to look forward to coming to the Forum, but there’s no more luster on it.

I used to enjoy it when Bonehead was here. MikeMed (?) and that goofy kid from Rutgers, and yes the Pella window guy and his arguments. Nick the trucker with his home arsenal and Lambo collection...
Remember those days?

But now days, the constant whining and moaning about the economy and politics, and this closed mindedness has gotten just plain boring.

Just wanted to do a little *****'n of my own.
Thanks.

It'll pass, just a little politically-inspired turbulence.

MikeMover is who I think you are thinking about. He's probably busy with his studio, trying to keep his Smoky Klattering Beast on the road and navigating married life. At least I think he's married now...?

Interesting... it's bad when folks talk politics and current issues, but good if they just tell jokes and post pictures of half naked women. The TeeVee Generation!

Just giving you a hard time, WVO. Seriously, though, as a country, we are at a real crossroads at the moment. I can't speak for all the "whiners" here, but I love my country, and I want to see its greatness continue -- so yes, when I see something that seems counter-productive going on, I am apt to discuss it. Guilty.

Anyway, I remember some real political doozies over the past 7 or 8 years; this place has always been quite volatile politically. Much of what is posted here now is tame compared to the "olden days."

It was a yeoman's effort, though!

Same here, I avoid political threads like the plague. I have gotten involved with some of the economic threads though.

I think there have been a number of good OD threads outside of politics...they just tend to get overshadowed because a lot of people are busy responding on the political threads.

The Pretty Girls thread has been woefully neglected...

How about a 3rd option? They screwed up and are screwing up things and people are upset.

Lets see. We done lost our whipping boy. Congress has a very high incumbency rate so things there are the same. Supreme Court is pretty much the same. What has really changed?

Some people prefer to drink beer, while others prefer to drink whiskey.

We each choose our own poison.

Long Island Iced Teas or Strawberry Daiquiris. Not into Beer or Whisky. Occasionally a Bacardi 151 shot with a mouthful of beer to chase it but that is it.
