Poppin' The Question...

Well, tonight is the night. I'm going to propose to my GF. I'm going to pick up the ring this afternoon. It is all paid for just getting sized and the diamond set in it. They told me it would be ready any time after 4pm today.

My plan is to fake a problem with my car while we are driving tonight(as this has happened before ). I'll pretend like I'm losing power or something and pull into a parking lot. Then I am going to pop the hood and pretend like I'm holding a hose of something and ask her to come out of the car. Then I will ask her if she can go pop the trunk and grab a wrench for me. When she pops the trunk I'm going to have a couple signs hanging from the lid and some flowers. Then I am going to walk around and do the proposal.

She is a good one. I've been married once before and have a 3 year old son. She has never given me any headaches, not even once since we've been together in almost two years. We have never had a fight. We've discussed things and not agreed but we have always been civil. We share the same philosophies in life and have a lot of similar interests but enough different ones as well. She also has a great job. Best of all I don't ever have to pull any punches and can be myself at all the times. It is truly like hanging out with the guys except I can do certain things with her I can't with the guys...

Best of luck. Any woman who can grab tools from the trunk to assist on a breakdown is a keeper for sure.

Thanks guys.

Brave for getting engaged, or brave for stating it here before I actually ask? I'm about 97.3% sure she will say yes.

Best of luck and congrats, she sounds like a great gal!

Keep a hip flask of Macallan under the spare for that unlikely 2.7%.

I like that approach. I might have to steal that idea for when my turn comes

Well in my SD, as long as the doors are unlocked the trunk pops when you push the button on the trunk itself.

I know she will like that I use my Mercedes. She really supports my habit. She told me I can buy all the old Mercedes that I want (with cash of course) as long as I never get a motorcycle...I said deal. The house we are looking at has 5 garage spaces. A 2 car attached and a 3-car detached that is heated on 4.25 acres. I'm drueling...

Perhaps I'll be able to take a pic of the ring. It is pretty simple, but she is a simple gal. It is a .91 round diamond set in just a white gold solitaire. I figured we could trade the solitaire back in and get a real ring if she so chooses. I'm gonna bet she keeps it and just adds a band.

Also, Mistress I have a question for you. My brother is getting married in May and my GF is having a shower for her tomorrow. Do you think we should wait to tell people until after the shower as it may 'steal some thunder' from my future sister-in-law? My future sis is really laid back so I doubt she would care...but I don't know. Maybe I'll ask the GF what she feels comfortable with.
