Moving and will be away for awhile

Moving to the lake house that has been in the family since the 20's. The lake is 30 acres and the nearest neighbor is my parents and they are a mile through the woods. The house needs alot of work which is on my project list for the next couple years. My new bride is going to provide guidance in regards to picking out the colors and such. She does a good job with it. I am pretty pumped about it especially the no mortgage or rent payments.

I have not looked into what it is going to take to get internet to the house yet and plan to be fully moved by July 1st. I'll be within about 2 miles of I16 running between Savannah and Macon, Ga.

You have a beautiful place. If you don't mind my asking, how may acres do you and your family have there?

I think you have made a good decision moving there. You will be much happier. I just bought my father inlaw place which is very small and in the midle of the woods. as soon as I pay off my house a comercial building which will take about 8 years, I am selling everything and moving there.

Very nice. You need a canoe. Nothing can cement a marriage like tandem canoeing.

Beautiful place. Especially with a canoe

Satellite internet is, I think, fairly reasonable these days.

I've heard some vague positive rumblings about these guys - http://skyfx.us

Hey Eng, man, you should take some swimming lessons and get a fishing rod too! Really open your eyes

Looks like a beautiful place to live.

How is the commute to your job at the paper mill?

The commute is going to brutal - 71 miles each way (thankfully all interstate). I'm going to try it for awhile. A couple thoughts are to rent a room to stay in Monday - Thursday night or set up a camper within 15 miles of the mill. On a more positive note there are a couple old frame buildings that will provide an excellent concrete foundation for a new shop. My new brides commute is longer but she only works 3 days one week and 4 days the other. She is keeping her house in the Savannah area.

Man, your situation sure did change dramatically for the better--playa's living the country squire life during the week, then off to the coast for the weekends Congratulations!!

Should be good quail country, no?

I was at Tybee for a couple of days after the Verizon and missed living in the area very much.

Is the interstate congested? I have friends that commute to Detroit everyday and once they get used to it they learn to make it efficient. Use the cell phone to take care of whatever business you may normally do at home and enjoy the ride. Also for internet if you have decent cell phone service its highly likely that someone offers 3g service in the area which is as fast as most lite landline connections.

It good to see that you are back on your feet, now is the time to send your ex a thank you card for enabling you to enjoy your life!
