The numbers are truly staggering sometimes. I drove past a prep school on my little trip the other day that has a yearly tuition of over $40,000 a year...and that's before they get to college....

Yup, I've been looking at some secondary schools for my daughter. The average tuition seems to be in the $20K range. Fortunately, she seems to like one of the public schools instead; now we'll see if my wife agrees.

True, I was stretching the truth a bit. They only charge 26k if your not living on the school grounds.

Do you feel that the private schools are better? I've never done any research into the subject and am curious to see the differences in they ways that they each approach education.

I'm not convinced private schools are necessarily better, my wife doesn't like the local public high school due to some bad experiences with my older daughter. There is a much smaller new public high school in our school district that might work out (assuming she can get into it), and save me a bunch of cash. Otherwise, I'll probably be writing some checks to keep peace in the family.
