I know, lots of cars have lots of plastic in the interior but I mean I just didn't expect that much plastic from Mini, that's all..

I'd like the original ones, that'd be pretty cool to have

What should be used instead of plastic? Plastic disguised as wood like in a luxury car?

Those original minis are pretty sweet. Make the new ones look like an obese pig. They are going to make a Mini crossover SUV. Great.. whats the point.

You're right. Maybe I should just buy a Porsche 911 instead. That SURELY would not look like a desparate attempt to hang onto my youth . . .

That's okay, you'll be here one day, too, only it'll be A LOT sooner than you expect . . .

I quit caring what anybody else thought of me along time ago. Life's too short to worry about stuff like that. I'm just out to have fun.

I would buy an old 911 instead of a new mini as a toy, not as a commuter. The new "911" isn't very interesting.

BTW, do you have a motorcycle; lots of cheap fun?

Actually, I'm a salesman and I'm looking for a car to drive just for work. I have a Lincoln now, but am thinking I might want to go in a different direction on my next work car. I don't think a motorcycle would work for that. Besides, I would not want to rideone of those in the traffic around Washington. There are too many aggressive, cell-phone-distracted, makeup-applying, pissed-off, ill-mannered, drunken, drivers around here. I prefer to have as much sheet metal as I can around me.

WELL THIS IS THE WHOLE NEW BALLGAME.
If you stretch to a 911 you will never look back. I've owned a few different versions during the years and my favorite was 1999 C4...
You go and drive one of them and we will talk after that. The way the 911 drives....there is no other car (for me) in the world. I am serious. They are soooo good, you can drive one EVERY day without a single issue. I was driving my 1999 C4 as my daily driver for 18 months.....32000 miles later I was still smiling every time I open the garage door. Still thinking about this car every time I see one on the road.

I think of driving my Miata as doing something that was fun when I was young and I can still do it as well as I could back then......unlike a lot of other things!
