That is what my original post said, "If you cross the US border illegally you get" and it listed about 12 items. Now Jolly Roger takes great issue with some of them namely social security card and food stamps. It doesn't say that they get them legally. These good people, even though they are breaking the law are in many cases under extreme financial stress. Necessity is the mother of invention. We all know that from just owning old Mercedes. But they are illegals, so one would say anything they do here would be illegal. But that is definatley not the case and they have their rights. California blames much of it's financial difficulty on them. Why should that be if they were entitled to all these benefits? I know that the situation varies from state to state, county to county, even township to township. Indiana I have heard makes it much more difficult for them to get drivers license and car tags. I have heard Ohio is much easier. And they say that is the reason so many of these people drive with Ohio tags. So they are very quick to learn any or all loop holes and weakness in the law to exploit. I know I just read lately that I think a group of about 400 were dismissed from a packing plant and they were all using the same ss number. I don't know if they had cards. I got my ss number in 1944 as I remember and probably lost the card with in the year. I don't recall anyone ever asking to see the card. And we know that as soon as these people have a baby born in the US, that child is a citizen and of course that is a key to many things. I also know as a school bus driver that we pick them all up and bring them to school, no question asked other then what their name address and age is and if their parents can be reach by telephone. By the way, I think that many are delightful, friendly and hard working people. I had about 15 of them put a new roof on our home 2 or 3 years ago. It was late summer, a really beautiful day and they had made the deal to do it that afternoon. Well noon came and went and about 4 PM I got the boss on the phone. In hard to understand English he said they would be there. They got here by 5 PM, tore the roof off, put on all new paper plus the ice barrier and two of them put the roof cap on with the light from a flash light. We gave them all as much KFC and rootbeer as they could handle, paid them and they were on there way. Great job and it saved me a lot of money. None of them could speak a word of English. They probably were to new to have a ss number at that time, but they will get one.

They know how stupid we are which is why they take advantage of it. As they say "A sucker is born every day". I have yet to see any part of the world besides here where people are proud of their stupidity and the fact that they are being made suckers of every day, every hour.....
