Yeah I think we did meet. I recognize your car more than your user name. I'm better at remembering faces

I think from a medical standpoint restoring fluids and electrolytes will eliminate a hang over.

I always drink water before bed though. Tends to solve the problem

The only hangover cure I know is to get your ass out of bed and get on with your day. Self pity misery is for light weights. If you are going to drink, you know what the consequences are.

If you have to get your butt out of bed to go break rocks in the hot sun at 7 am, I recommend judicious application of liquids, grease and salt (AKA eggs, bacon and buttered toast with OJ) and take a few quarts of water with you and a handfull of non asprin pain killers

If you rise at a more relaxed pace pace a cheeseburger, coke and fries and a stiff bloody mary at say noonish. This will make the afternoon tollerable until you decide to get real and finish the keg that has been sitting in the sun drenched tub in the front yard to get the deposit back so you can go to the bar in the evening.

There is no cure and it gets worse with age. The only remedy is not to drink to excess, something that also becomes more difficult with age.

During college football season, I travel with a zip lock with all this stuff in it.
  • 2 aspirin
  • 200mg cysteine (available at specialty food stores)
  • 600mg vitamin C
  • 1 tablet vitamin B-complex
  • Fuse smoothee from a convenience store

Good reading here:

Just don't do what I did last Thursday!

My friend had a 14 hour day at work and was tired and pissed. So he called me and was like I'm going to the package store, were drinking! So he comes over with a bottle of Captain 100 proof rum. This was about 8:30.

We start working on it and my other friend comes over at about 9:30 and has a drink. By 10 the bottle is dry and we head to the bar, to meet up with another friend. So now I'm on beer and probably had 3-4 Bud lights and a shot of tequila while at the bar. The 2nd friend who showed up called it an early night and left at 11:30, so my budy and his friend from work we met at the bar kept drinking. His friend is used to working 3rd shift but had the night off so he was ready to go at 12. We left the bar at 1 and since me and my first budy were in no shape to drive, his friend drove us to his house. Where we had a couple shots of jack, and a jack and coke, and finaly he drove us home at 3.

That was a long night, I can't beleive we pregamed by killing a bottle of Captain 100!

There's only two cures for a hangover as far as I'm concerned.

-Sucking it up and being a man
-Alka-Seltzer (Alchy-Seltzer.) It always works. The problem is you either puke and feel better, or just feel better. Kind of like "Lets Make a Deal" back when Monty Hall was on it.

Good to see nothing has change with college in 35 years!!

The "hair of the dog" never worked for me!! (I assume every one knows what that is)

We have stuff called Berocca down here, works well, its a massive dose of B group vitamins.

Greasy fried eggs & bacon never worked for me.

A "Pie Floater" before you go home doesnt work. You need to have been to South Australia to know what one of those are. They are said to be good at causing a non surgical stomach pump !!!

Keep a bucket next to your bed!!!

Remember the funniest thing is to be the only sober person at a party full of drunks, you remember everything they dont!!!

Always show up late and no drinks before you get there. The sober guy gets the best girl at the end of the night!! Been there done that!!!

Never forget that parents used to play up too!!!!

I've tried most of that, and the only thing thats ever worked for me is a couple sports drinks before bed, but that only works if your sober enough to remember to do it! An average night for us usually consists of too many drinks to count and waking up with little to no memory of the end of the night.. Side effect of living in the town with the most bars per square mile in the US

And yeah, totally forgot it was saturday and not sunday! Maybe I should change that to friday, saturday, and sunday mornings.

I've had good luck with having a few pieces of fried chicken on a beerfest night. It has to be real fried chicken though, not fast food... that just makes it worse.

Ever seen what happens when you combine 13 Guinnesses, a 12" Subway sandwich, and a good bit of scotch on an empty stomach after a double shift at work? It's not pretty.

Usually a good sandwich with meats and cheeses helps. I've heard bacon sandwiches are good too.

The day after our parties here. It seems the level of Gatorade in the hangar fridge is mysteriously way down, and so are the O2 bottles in the PA31.
