Back than very much so.

The church was the center of everything, back in the 1600's in my town the first property records were recorded, stored, and referenced by the church.

Hmmmm... Maybe those poor, slave children who work in other countries have it figured out. Be forced into indoctrination for 13 years or develop a skill, to produce wealth and independence, and overcome the mechanisms forced upon them to keep them uninformed, in poverty. But then again, we all know any choice you make under that magical age of 18 years is involuntary.

See, I agree with you. They are extremists, power-hunger extremists who use religion to get what they want. They may try to call themselves "Christians", but the Bible would caution that they are really wolves in sheep's' clothing.

These religious, extremist nut jobs are in this country in force, at the same time were fighting another group over seas.

This group also seems to worship Bush.

If the DHS wants to make itself worth while they should come down like a ton of bricks on these people.

I would call them mainstream Pentecostals. There are millions of them in the US and millions more around the world. If my memory serves me correctly the main character in the documentary is a member of Palin's (former?) denomination. Witness the recent attempts of Uganda to make homosexuality a capital crime. The Ugandan government has been in close connection with these forms of Christianity for quite a few years.

Like I said, self defense killing is not a sin according to the religion. Soldiers in the US military aren't told they're going to hell if they shoot their enemies are they? I dont think it'd be too hard to convince the brainwashed JesusCampers to do anything if you were a good enough speaker and knew what buttons to press.

Again, I agree completely with you. These manipulators are pushing buttons for their own purposes.
They have nothing in common with Christianity.

The Bible says that the essence of true religion is to help widows and orphans.

The easiest place to find huge mobs of them is at Sarah Palin rallies.

She herself is one of them.

Again, we disagree on what qualifies as "Christian". Just because someone calls them self a Chrisitan, doesn't mean they actually are. Jesus said that MANY would call " Lord, Lord" to Him at the judgment, and He would say, " I never knew you". Regardless of whether you accept the Bible, or not, the story still makes the point.

All true. HOWEVER, this is like dealing with muslims and OBL. IF OBL were doing things in the name of the religion that are not part of the religion, isn't it up to the so called moderate muslims who are supposedly the majority to stand up and denounce him? If not, what are we to think? Besides that Islam IS, in fact, in favor of such activities? Same thing here. Where were the good majority to stand up to these actions at the time? So yes, if you called yourself "XYZ" and said you were doing it in the name of the deity of "XYZ" and it was untrue, where was the rest of "XYZ" to dispute that?
