It's not a contradiction

It's not a contradiction. I think you once stated you were in the Singapore army. Your life was most likely completely ruled just as mine was when I was in the U.S. Army. Probably more so. Told when to get up. When to eat. What you were going to do. Where you were going to do it. When you could leave the base. When you would go to sleep and where. And more.

We were both responsible for our own actions though.

Yup, but one can argue that modern metaphysics is little more than a discussion of symantics unless it is based on a current understanding of science. It's not meta-mythology. I do think there are reasonable arguments regarding the origin of the universe and the physical laws, but I don't see how it can be applied to irrational beliefs in a personal god. Am I missing something?

If I understand your question, I'd say, it is not at all like that. Those math solutions I referred to are real solution; not "wrong" ones. It just takes an understanding of higher levels of math to comprehend them.

There are modern metaphysicians who use the concept of God in their systems. Probably not a personal God in the sense that MS was referring to, yet they do discuss the notions of freedom, omnipotence, and responsibility, rejecting traditional notions of divine omnipotence. I'm thinking of Whitehead and Hartshorne. Not sure the extent to which these modern scientifically based metaphysics might be meta-mythology. They might have a component of that in them, but I think most of it is just highly abstract speculation based on what is known about the universe thru science.
