Not a bad list; something for everyone.
If there isn't a car or two or more on that list that you would be happy to own, you are just too hard to please.

I would put the Corvette over the Mustang and add the Mazda RX2/3/7 to that lineup.

The Jag XJ12 would be a good one to include as well but that dang thing was so unreliable.

What about RR's?

Old Rolls Royces really weren't all that special. (A Mercedes was a better built/designed car)

ROFL, who let the EV1 slip in there? That bulbus horror looks like a snake trapped under a rock, and if it had any less range you could just leave the ****er plugged in. Also, delete the Toyota, Honda, and mitsubishi from that list. Just because something preforms well doesn't mean it's nice, or indeed tolerable. Don't forget, to be "damn near perfect" a car should have character, as well as reliability, beauty, and preformance.

The boxy crease covered mitsubishi (it doesn't deserve a capital M) fails hard when it comes to beauty and character. Also, while Honda Accords might be reliable efficient little people movers, I'd rather ride one of my Tennessee Walking Horses than have to live with a vehicle that boring. It excites the libido in the same manner as the threat of castration.

Definately agree with the Jeep being on there, they're great trucks, at least they used to be. I havent owned one newer than '97.

The Miata should probably be somewhere in that list as well, it's the sports car that Lotus should have been able to build. Unfortunately Lotus used Lucas parts...

I'd also probably put the G-wagen (or Unimog) in there instead of that silly little Toyota truck, as G wagons are made from real metal, and not the stuff thats wrapped around sticks of gum.

Oh man you must have never driven an EVO. I do agree with their commentary that the Nissan Skyline should have beat out the EVO, those cars are true feats of modern engineering.

Really. A better one to pick in that class would be the WRX.

Like I said, it might be fast as hell, but for what you'd pay for it there's scores of other more desireable cars out there.

I'd have put a BMW 2002 or first gen VW GTI on that list. But it is tough to argue with their choices. I think this one was well done.

Well done other than the Mustang, IMO. Steve McQueen is likely to blame for that.

BMW should definitely have been placed over the Stang. Like perhaps a model 2002. Yes, the first Mustangs were cool looking but they've had some serious model issues since then. They never really kept up to the rest of the pack, pun intended, and they rely on their heritage rather than any innovation. Can you tell I'm not a fan?

good list. I have a wrangler, a w123 and a mustang. mustang is on the list because it is the best affordable perennial v8 horsepower. a 30K mustang will still run with a 50K vette if not beat it outright.

Personaly I think the Mustang is a better car than the BMW. At least I'd buy one before a 2002.
