First you dump your nice vintage MB for a pickup, now this...Hattie, what's going on?

With the broad aftermarket support for the Mustang and a bottomless wallet, you could turn a basic '65 notchback into a rocket that can also turn and stop...as long as you brace the hell out of the flexistructure and throw away every single braking/drivetrain/suspension component and start all over again. My John Deere lawn tractor is more technically sophisticated than the Mustang's '60 Falcon progenitor.

My uncle has owned one for about 25 years and done just that. Has lots of neat parts under the hood and underneath, he just about threw away the stock drive line and suspension.

Right now its putting to the road about 450hp, its fun when you step on it...goes real well.

It corners and stops like a BMW to!

I think the EV1 is a very nice looking car. Then again, I really like the Citreon DS

The Jaguar E-Type is in the Museum of Modern Art. None of those cars accomplished that.

Moma has a '59 VW Beetle.

Having owned a 65 Mustang fastback all I can say is you are nuts. It was nothing but a falcon with a pretty body. Not in the same league as a 2002.

You're right. They actually have 6 cars. I'm guessing they drove the Jag in but once there it wouldn't start so they couldn't get it out.

Here's a fun fact for those of you who like e types but have never worked on one... To do a clutch job (they're frequent as hell) you literally have to pull the ****ing engine. I wish I were kidding.

My BMW vote would have to be for one of those aluminum bodied six series coupes from the 70's/80's. I'm not that familiar with them, never driven one, but they look cool and are supposed to handle great. They didn't make many though.

IIRC it's the same with an MG Midget. Nothing like British engineering.

Yeah, 'cept the MG was a HELL of a lot simpler to take apart. It's like comparing a '69 220D to an '10 SLS AMG when you get into the technicalities on the two cars. I remember Peter Eagan talking about it saying something like almost every part on the Jaguar was bespoke (one of a kind to it's model.) Whereas the MG was a van that used to carry tractor parts which someone lopped the roof off of and successfully turned into a leaky unreliable nightmare. And yet I love British Cars. We're strange aren't we?
