In the future we'll all go to work in a flying car (just like mine)

Phase two of my front suspension rebuild will be to figure out that levitation trick / anti gravity drive...

...it looks so good from the front without wheels!

When I get phase two done I'll post my results here.

If you need a flux capacitor, let me know, I have several of different sizes, and power ranges.

I need one strong enough for a Buick "deuce and quarter" - it's big enough to live in and never have to land.

Gawd, that reminds me of an old Dennis Hopper movie I saw on video nearly 20 years ago - Dennis as the pilot, flying around in a B-29 converted to a psychwar plane that was used in Vietnam, still flying over the U.S. with his old crew, overriding TV broadcasts to expose corrupt politicians and teleevangelists of the same ilk that supposedly started the Vietnam War - and somehow they never had to land to refuel - one scene showing a guy crawling out onto the wing in flight to keep one of the engines running.

Flat-out weird movie. At that, Dennis Hopper is flat-out weird.

I heard about it, they got that scene idea from a Hughes design that had a passageway for mechanics to shut down one engine and repair in flight.

I remember when Super Shops was still in business. You could get your nitrous bottle filled AND a flux capacitor.

Brainstorming session???

As an Engineer I've been trained to consider all possible aspects of a design before embarking on a design process. So here goes for phase two... (see above)

I could go the tried and tested route of making a cushion of air under the car like a Harrier Jump Jet or a hovercraft... but that's pretty noisy - and sometimes you need to carry your own water to make the air "strong" enough to support your flying object.

Maglev has also been suggested but that would be rather costly as I'd have to arrange for some magnetic rails to drive on - and I want to go everywhere in my car - who wouldn't?

So I was thinking about other forces that could lift my car.

I've come up with:-

1) Van der Waal's forces
2) Capillary force
3) The police force
4) A force to be reckoned with
5) The Force featuring Q'n'C

Have I missed any?

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!!!

Army -

I had similar issues come up with regard to one of our 1947 Farmall Cub tractors a few years back.

Being a helicopter pilot/mechanic... Here was my solution.
