Why does the arrow for string direction on a weed eater always point in the wrong direction ??

Just got a new one, loaded it in the direction indicated by the arrow and all it would do is 'eat' the string. Pulled it down, reloaded it and noo problems.

Why do they give Handicap Parking Permits to obese people? Shouldn't they be precisely the ones walking a little further?
