I've really got no problems with speed cameras being mounted on the highway in high accident areas. It seems to be a better way of spending the tax payer's money then having a real person sit behind a tree all day with a radar gun in hand.

I live in a small suburb and the police station is about the same size as a university campus. I normally see 5-6 police cars parked at the side of the road trying to trap speeders on my drive to work, but I can count on one hand how many times I've seen a police car patrol my neighborhood in the 3 years that I've lived here.

For those that say just dont sped, I was going around 80 in a 75 and they ticketed me at 86. I should have fought the speed he put on the ticket at that moment but didnt think it made much difference, but it did to the tune of an additional $200. I was guilty of maybe 5 over and having florida plates
Well a soon as you admitted to 80 in a 75(? I thought Ga was 70). You admitted to the officer YES SIR I AM GUILTY. I used to live there and what my neighbor county cop friend told me was never admit or say anything that resembles admission to what he asks you.

IE: Do you why I stopped you? No sir I do not when I saw your lights come on I looked at my speedo and KNOW that i was not speeding. Almost all police have dash cams and mics on the officers so that can be evidence if you want to push the issue. I drove a truck for 1.75 million miles and only ever got 2 speeding tickets. Both well deserved I might add

You made that point. Stop begging the question. While the "law is the law" and we all take risks when we break it, there are valid reasons to debate and change it.

Only one way to find out I guess. The trick between speeding ticket revenue ad typical property tax revenue is the ability to predict the amount of money left over at the end of tax season.

Just sprinkle the extra speeding ticket revenue on top and if a lot of money needs to be injected into a school just go back to the property tax rate.
