I believe the standard charger law is in the EU. Don't most current phones use a USB interface anyway? I just plug mine into my computer, which is always with me anyway. AC power to USB adaptors are readily available if you are away from your computer. Seems like this problem has taken care of itself.

I know for a fact the owner of the company i work for still carries a pager for some reason. He has an iphone for crying out loud. I use my phone as an internet browser/calls/music/email device. I still use a dvd player and have yet to buy a modern television. Actually i use my laptop to watch movies. I am surprised cd's weren't on the list. I use the fax all day long at work. Oh and besides apples weird connections, it seems chargers are getting universal. My motorala droid and blackberry storm both use a micro usb charger.

It's a start, but there are still way too many devices that don't use USB charging.
Left to this pace it will take 20 years.

As much as I HATE government intervention, this 'could' be one I'd support.

Well, I still enjoy my extict analog recording devices - my reel-to-reel & cassett decks, and my VCRs. Though some of the tapes are getting hard to find! Also enjoy my tube stuff.

Happy Motoring, Mark

1) Fax Machines - use mine fairly often, see # 2

2) Landline Phones - cell calls sound like $hit. I won't give mine up.

3) Beeper/Pagers -never had one

4) DVD players - they'll improve, ie Blue-Ray, but not go away IMO

5) Film Projectors at theatres- who goes to theatres?

6) The Computer Mouse - Photoshopping with your finger is next to impossible

7) Cell Phone Chargers- then how will I charge my cell phone?

8) Plasma TVs - I still don't have a flat screen. My big Wega CRT refuses to die. I won't replace something that operates perfectly just because there's something newer and "better".

9) Credit Cards - mine went away a long time ago. Good riddance

10) E-Book Readers - books are and should always be made of paper

11) iPods - no opinion, I don't use one, my wife and son would sure be lost without theirs though.
As far as music goes, vinyl is experiencing a resurgence, as are tube amplifiers, although I suppose that'll just be a geeky niche market. I jumped into the computer "craze" pretty early. Buying my first Macintosh Plus in 1988. It's ability to keep track of my livestock records and books was a true revelation. I signed onto the internets for the first time in 91 and the access to information it gave was a life changing event. It seems to me that our technological focus has changed now. So much new tech CREATES a need to be filled, rather than filling a need that actually exists. I guess I've survived a serious case of techno-lust and am now immune to it.

I still use a beeper for some work related stuff, and that number goes to the imbeciles that I will only talk to at my convenience. You never have to duck a call when the person knows they are calling a pager. Also, lets them know where they are in the general pecking order.

iPod, that gets used for walk in and walk out music at most of the shows I do, because I do not want to utilize a phone for that application. If the phone rings while the iPod function is playing to a few thousand people, I can't exactly answer it.

There's tons of great music on vinyl. People buy technology and forget it's the music that matters.

Vinyl is great, it's just not very portable. Who has time to sit at home and listen to their music collection?

Same here, I don't even have a turntable in my system at the moment.

Refrigerators.

Everything will be irradiated to stop spoilage, and food will be spot cooled as needed.
