Nice fact checking, it never got to the Supreme Court.

And I guess the testimony of a Justice Dept lawyer abouthow Holder **** canned the case because it was against minorities, got by you as well.

The Black Panthers had nothing to do with that so-called case. That was a couple of knuckleheads who called themselves the New Black Panther party.
Right. Justices Roberts, Alito, Scalia, Thomas, and Kennedy are just so concerned about annoying Obama. That must be why that case went nowhere. A lack of evidence couldn't have had anything to do with it.

Wait a minute. I was just responding to his comment. I never said that it did get to the Supreme Court.

Why would you guess that? Seriously. Why would you guess that? I read Mr. Adam's fact-free testimony. I also read about how Obama wasn't even in office yet when the DOJ decided not to prosecute anyone in that case. This was a non-story, except for the human interest component of two dim-witted guys trying to look tough. To what end, I don't know. Maybe you know why they would have wanted to intimidate voters at a precinct that heavily favored Obama.

That's some pretty clever attempted misdirection, counselor!

The issue regarding the NBP case was not that criminal prosecution was passed on by either Bush DOJ or Obama DOJ, both did! The issue was that after the Bush DOJ perused and virtually won a default judgment the civil prosecution was significantly curtailed by the Obama DOJ for no apparent or seemingly justifiable reason. The Obama DOJ argument is that it was within their discretion and that's what they decided, the Obama DOJ has virtually stonewalled any inquiry as to the decision making process that led to the absolute minimum sanction against the single defendant. The US Civil Rights Commission has been the only entity thus far to investigate the matter, the DOJ Inspector General has announced an investigation that will theoretically encompass some aspects to the NBP matter, when the control of the House changes hands in January there will likely be a more in depth and thorough look along the lines of "what did X know and when did X know it"!

Thumbs down More of the same, just the latest chapter of it.

The FIRST thing this brought to my mind was the Civil rights struggle of the 1950's and 1960's in the US South.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African-American_Civil_Rights_Movement_(1955%E2%80%931968)

There is a RIch Lode of pictures in the not too recent history of the US south - ARKANSAS, MISSISSIPPI AND ALABAMA, especially.

Vivid images
from the newspapers and magazines still stand out in my mind now:

Polling places in heavily black rural counties with 55 gallon drums outside, with hissing rattlesnakes set on top of them which was QUITE a challenge to pass, and sending a message on mopre than one level to would be black voters.

A picture of a brand new '65 Dodge Dart coupe parkd near a civil rights deonstration, with a huge letters painted all down the side: "'MERIDIAN, MISSISSIPI HATES NIGERS" (sic)

Burning churches set on fire in black rural counties;

Sheriff Bull Conner unleashing police dogs on black children marching for civil rights, and the adult marchers being hosed down with fire hoses by local law enforcement, the Army and National Guard being called in finally, the Ku Klux Klan, gett9n in on the action, the murder of Cheney Goodwin and Schwerner, the white civil rights workers, from up North, etc etc

Ask ANY 60+ year old african american adult today, almost anyone, that lived down there at the time, and they will remember. Vividly. A shameful and disgraceful part of our history, the racism and hate that most white americans would prefer to forget.

I am presided that so few, and nobody so far, on here, has called the "tea party" movement and these Republicans, the authors of the lastest chapter in this horrid story, just more RACISM, hatred and fear.

For shame.

I recall a storey related to me by a good freind of my Father. He was a black man who lived in Alabama in the 40's.
He tell me about his brother who, after being hassled reapeatedly by a white man-snapped 1 day.
The brother try to stop him, but couldnt. He beat the white man to death with his bare hands.
Of course the family had to get them out of town, so they were sent to Detroit.
With all of this behind them, one brother worked for General Motors until he retired. The other one became a U.S. Marshall.
I dont condone violance- but 'Justice was served' in this case.

Look up gotcha in Wiktionary, the free dictionary.

Gotcha and I gotcha are relaxed pronunciations of "I got you" or "I've got you", usually referring to an unexpected capture or discovery. Gotcha is a common colloquialism meaning to understand or comprehend.

OK, I spoke to my brother and he says this could be real!
The press conference room showed on the website is the Governor's conf room - he has been there a few times.
He has not personally heard of this do he cannot tell me 100% if it is true.

I thought this was far-fetched, but know I am not so sure...

Just forwarded your posts on this matter to the FBI Unsolved Capital Crime Unit, the Michigan State Police, and the Alabama Department of Public Safety(State Police) and Interpol! If nothing else maybe it will get your name into a LE data bases and maybe even put on a watch list! Inshallah!
