A C5 or C6 I would love to get my hands on, a C4 would have to be LT-powered and probably manual as well.

LT's are okay if the Optispark isn't crapping out. I always liked the 1989 6-speed, last year for the 1984 nose and tail, and the 4+3 trans was history.

It's a Chevy "Stroker" motor. Not as good as being "blown" but

I care what others think as long as they are quantifiable or accompanied by cash.

I think they said you can make it even stiffer with BOTH the Targa top and the braces.

350 block, 400 crank - you know someone on this board was looking at your signature and scratching their head.

There's two high-performance cars you can use as a daily driver and not have to worry too much about major components: The Corvette, and the Porsche 911.

I'd never own a Corvette. There are too many of them, they are generic, and I hear once you hit 55 or 60 AARP sends you a coupon for one free Corvette. The demographic for the damn car is the same as the AARP.

I'm not impressed by any run of the mill vette.. maybe some of the stupid fast/expensive examples but they have nothing on the Viper.

X2

I wouldn't either - I'd much prefer an E Class mid 90s ragtop gasser.

I sold C6s new, and nearly owned one myself... long story, but wound up with an X5.

The fit and finish is still not even close to MB standards. Good value, yes, but if you parked my Silver Arrow which oozes fit and finish next to a C6, there's really no comparison.

But, do they still come with free Viagra and gold chains?

Yes, let's couple R129s top hydralics with W124s Head gasket, wiring harness, evaporator, and throttle body problems. To be fair, R129 shared some of the same problems, but they can be avoided by going with a newer year 500.
