I'm starting to really dig the newer ones.

They are built quite well for what they are, go like stink, stop and turn quite well, and with the right exhaust sound pretty good. Plus their are a ton of mods for them.

Plus you can get them with a manual. Whenever the magazines do tuner car shoot outs Porsche and Corvette always do the best, plus you can use either one as a daily driver.

Corvettes were always about bang-for-the-buck when compared to euro sports cars. I like the C6, with it's hint of early '70's Corvette styling. The coupe is safer and more secure than the convertible, definitely more aero, but I just like the idea of driving with the top down listening to the exhaust tone rise and fall as you go through the gears.

I know with C4s the convertibles have more flex than coupes. I would guess it would be that way with the later models too unless they have found a way to stiffen it so that the top doesn't matter.

The new Vettes have a little bit of cowl shake with the top down but nothing as bad as the old cars. They of course are not nearly as quiet as the new SLs on the freeway... a lot more noise but hey, they're sports cars... a bit of NVH comes with the territory.

It is noticeable but not deal breaking if you like topless cars. Amazing cars corvettes!

They're a much better value than any MB comparable model. Especially the C6es. My Corvette C3 was one fine, fast car.

Car & Driver still thinks the interiors look cheap and the seats are one of the worst in a high powered two seater. However, I thought it was interesting that when Road & Track compared the street version to the racing version, the street engine had more HP that the racing unit due to the class rules.

I guess I am more concerned with the power and handling. I'd drive a miniature Weinermobile with neon pink interior and green polka dots if it made 800HP and handled well. I don't care if C&D think is looks cheap unless they are paying for it. I bought a Vette for the way it handle and the power I can make.

Several years ago I was giving a good look at C4 convertibles. IIRC, you could buy aftermarket bracing to increase their rigidity.

I don't know what compelled you to put a Mopar 383 in a Corvette...
