Bigotry Definition

For many years I have assumed that bigotry referred to racial intolerance. Last week I was called a bigot. I was surprised when I looked up the definition and one source listed it as:

"Stubborn or COMPLETE INTOLERANCE of ANY belief or opinion that differs from ones own"

I want to make it clear that I have ZERO intolerance for anyone based on their ethnicity or anything else that they are born with. It's what's in a persons character that matters to me. Not their skin pigmentation or where they were born.

I posted a thread with about 20 replies to see what some of you have COMPLETE INTOLERANCE for. It seems that many of you, even some who termed ME as a bigot have bigotry of your own.

I along with a number of you have proven to be guilty of bigotry. The funniest response was one saying that they had COMPLETE INTOLERANCE for bigots and racists. Even THAT person is guilty of being what they have COMPLETE INTOLERANCE for, bigotry.

By the listed definition, most everyone is guilty of bigotry.

Think about it.

BTW, the most irritating thing was that my thread was closed before I had the opportunity to defend myself this morning when an attack was made on me after I was disciplined last week for attacking. It would seem that turnabout is fair play and THAT person should have received a warning.

Larry please please please don't get yourself kicked off this forum - we can all benefit from your technical input and experience - but this public form of therapy that you seem to be intent on pursuing is painful to watch. It is like watching a car crash in slow motion. Look at your infraction count mate - calm down for a bit - you are going to loose the war - forget about the battles please.

I think Larry's in sort of a suicide-by-cop mode. I doubt that it will be a permanent ban - maybe six months.

Thanks for the concern. After being called a bigot last week, I was simply checking on myself and learned exactly what the term means. I found that I, as well as most people, are guilty of it.

I was simply pointing out that at least some of those that called ME a bigot are guilty themselves.

I don't understand how this is banning material. If I'm wrong, I'm sure that I will find out very soon.

I'm sure that you will enjoy that six months immensely. I do indeed wish that the guy would get that gun from the back of your head and stop making you read my posts. I'm always concerned for those threatened with firearms.

I did not understand that also- seemed quite stupid to close that thread- was there a reason given for the closure?

Can't you call the police or something? That guy is breaking the law with such a threat with firearms.

Are you trying to get people you do not agree with banned? It sure seems like that is your purpose to post in threads in which Larry is involved.

You COMPLETELY miss my point. I am trying to help you. You continue to read my posts in spite of the fact that they clearly irritate you. The only reason I can see for you to do this is if you are coerced into it.
