I got the pads yesterday and installed them this morning. All seemed to go well.

I'm off Sunday for Grissom.

Woo hooo!

Thanks. I'll be hauling up to Ft. Wayne. Ran up there a few weeks ago. The course seemed so simple walking it but in reality it was slower than it appeared. I got beat by a 95ish Dodge truck with a hot engine and plenty of lightening rust holes

Thumbs up Driving Fun

I'll be taking the back roads tomorrow with one of the foster boys, the last time I took the other one he didn't like the car flying 'round all those mountain curves so much .

Have fun!

I ran yesterday at Ft Wayne. The course was large and not too tricky. We anticipated rain all day and got some in each session, morning and afternoon.

I got the car going pretty well but spun out at a place there was reverse camber which was not apparent on the first run but was obvious on the second because I was running harder.

But it started raining and I loaded up after three runs.

In the second group a guy lost it comprehensively and hit the guard rail in his new supra. He did not appear to be hurt too badly but the car hit at an angle and mashed in the lf corner pretty badly.

After waiting for them to resume running for an hour I headed home.

I felt good about my driving but am now worried that these accidents will threaten our ability to run anywhere.

To me this was a poorly designed course (for safety). You should never hit a solid thing and there were several places I was concerned about other than where he hit.

I probably will not run at that venue again.

Oh, yes, we did indeed .

Demarkis rode shotgun in Tanny's right hand drive MGB GT MKI and had fun .

My little 240D managed to do very well apart from some hills in the furthest back woods, some guys on Motocycles *almost* caught up to me .

Today was a test and tune. It rained off and on all afternoon. I never had a dry track but trundled along for 7 or 8 runs slipping around a bit and spinning off one place wherever there was a substantial pool after the finish line.

It was largely enjoyable.

I have not run yet this year at my favorite place...south bend. Tomorrow is supposed to rain a lot there. I am planning to stay home tomorrow.

There were two cars worth mentioning:
1. A ninety something non descript sedan with an outrageous turbo on it sticking out of the hood about a foot with a 5 or 6" diameter intake. The guy was sorting the engine apparently as he had a problem making any complete runs.

2, An Audi sedan with a four element or so front wing 7' wide, standing off the hood and bumper at least a foot and a 8 or 9 element veritcal wing. This wing looked like it would not fit into a normal garage. This guy had it well sorted and just ran lap after lap. It was a factory v8 car with twin turbos, I imagine hopped up. People do some wild and crazy things to cars.!

These high horsepower cars with turbos spit and pop and bang as they race around the course. Very entertaining!

Smile Not To Worry

There's always the next time .

I hear you about the wild modifications, as least you're at the track ~ the goobers 'round Los Angeles (Land of Fruits, Nuts and Flakes remember) do all this and more then drive in traffic hitting the rev. limiter or waste gate at every shift and never go faster than 30 MPH........ .

They LOVE all the noise is all .

Today am at scca national meet. We had the car weighed and found it to be very light. We had to add 50# of ballast for my lighter driver. He is also very slender and is hitting his shoulders on the upper bars andknees o n the bottom of the dash supports. It appears the car is fast. They have declared it very balanced and easy to drive (I told them that). Tomorrow will be the first actual competition.

It is exciting. Thousands of people from all over come to clash on the massive smooth concrete at the Lincoln (Nebraska) air park.
