LarryBible isn't here right now, so I'll tell you - It's the tidy little red triangle just above the Join Date on the upper right of the post box.

Well said, both of you. I'm betting if a person could have a rational conversation with an Islamic extremist, he'd eventually get around to his belief in "traditional values" too.

Absolutely, they would probably say the equivalent of "our society is going to hell in a hand-basket because of western influences on our kids." and cite some passage from a religious text to support their argument against relativism. Sound familiar?

It's universal:

If you read the correspondence between Adams and Jefferson in their old age, you will find passages complaining about the younger generation.

Bill Cosby used to do a whole bit about turning into his father when he was yelling at his kids.

Or, “Not to be a republican at twenty is proof of want of heart; to be one at thirty is proof of want of head.”

- Francois Guisot (1787-1874) (Note: by "republican" he is talking about what americans would now call a liberal.)

Can you imagine the outcry if Kerry's post on the Pope saying it is OK for gay priests to use condoms when having sex with altar boys had said the same thing except about muslim clerics? I'm sure it would have been deleted post haste, and all kinds of cries of intolerance and bigotry would have been hurled at the OP. Don't get me wrong- I think that neither point of view, no matter how offensive, should be silenced. I understand the need to keep things civil, but it seems that its OK to offend people with traditional values, but heaven help you if you don't accept and acknowledge moral relativism in all its forms. All that being said- If something offends you just ignore it. If a troll can't find anyone to argue with they will wither up and go away. Personally I find your posts to be genuinely thought provoking and in search of real discussion in a way that is not normally seen on this forum (myself included). Unfortunately, since you seem to have traditional values you are under constant attack and threat from those who would like to silence you. Please don't let them.
The poster that goes by Kerry aka Edwards obviously has personal issues to work out is why he's basically got it bad for Christianity and Catholicism. Exactly what those issues are and why they exist, is unclear. What is clear is that he's chosen this forum to exhibit his personal issues. Personally, I find it humorous in a disgustingly sad way for him, but since he is a nameless, faceless individual, shame doesn't seem to stop him from posting his childish rants. Edwards (alias Kerry) did pick up an infraction for his latest work I noticed. Deservedly so.

yes, good work joe. if you can't deal with the truth, why... blame the messenger. that's a new one.

not to worry, though, i'm sure the good lord will reward you in the afterlife for your fearless devotion to.... money, motorcoaches, warren buffett and the republican party, all of which, i am sure, are part of the christian belief system.

According to the info you've provided, people can lobby for infractions against member, and 40% will be successful!

It is a real shame that the 60% of unsuccessful efforts are not exposed, I'm certain that it would be very interesting to know who is, and the nature and extent of the majority "unsuccessful" reporting!

And the fact that infractions lobbied successfully for by people in no way constitute an attempt to lobby for elimination of a member which through aggregation of infractions will not be successful, is just another blessing to be thankful for!
Is lobbying to have someone banned from this forum worse than YOU threatening to 'turn ME in to Interpol, because I raised my hand and said 'I am a Muslim"
Take awhile...think about it~

InsyaAllah

While it's obvious to most members that your ongoing rants of bias have no merit or basis in fact, personally, as the moderator, I'd like to qualify the above sentence:

If this "double standard" exists on this forum, in your mind, you are invited to post some factual support for your position.

I will absolutely be waiting to see what you find. If you cannot support your position, I'll strongly suggest that you modify your post because we won't tolerate false accusations of bias.

If however, your statement is directed at society at large, than please carry on as usual with your closed mind.

My post was definitely about society at large in my view. I don't think you know enough about me or my situation to say I have a closed mind, but since your opinion means little to me, and you have no influence on my life, feel free to continue insulting me.

It depends on how one defines:
"because I raised my hand and said 'I am a Muslim" I suppose!

With all of this behind them, one brother worked for General Motors until he retired. The other one became a U.S. Marshall.
