What would you rather sit in while waiting for a tow truck? (Jaguars are also nice to sit and enjoy all that chrome, leather, wood and wool; you just get to do it more often.)

If you look at your Mercedes as a utility, not a whole car, the Jeep is probably better. But the Jeep is a farming implement, the Mercedes is well, the basis for nearly every comparison.
Hyundai's don't 'have a better warranty than a Dodge', and Lexuses don't 'ride like Jeeps.' Hell I saw a sewing machine ad that called the Bernina the Mercedes of sewing machines. What makes a Mercedes a Mercedes is partially intangible, but like Kenny said it is also tangible. I've had a Wrangler and several Benzes. A Jeep, is NOT a Mercedes. Oh and my 17 year old Mercedes gets 2x the fuel economy.

On my SDL the AC quit, the radio needed to be replaced (along with the antenna), the right passenger seat controls worked when THEY wanted to, not when YOU wanted them to work, and the sunroof was immobile. At least the cruise and windows worked! Still I miss that car like I would miss a kidney!
