I'm a self-employed television director or technical director. You may have seen some of my shows-- I'm the technical director for all the studio tapings of America's Most Wanted. I currently direct two other national shows. I'm one of the lucky ones that loves what he does.

But the lousy economy has also affected my industry these days...

I would think there would be more profit in appliance repair, the appliace sales, then furniture sales. In that order.

Is that about right? I am curious because in my little side gig, repair gives me the best profit margin plus I have a 300% markup on parts. Small engine sales are OK but nothing like repair, mostly because I costs me capital to acquire and transport and store the small engine to start with.

Program Manager by title, get schtuff done guy by practice. Currently mostly involved in moving products from factories in one low cost region to another.

Have done manufacturing management (including three factories in Mexico) and program management ranging from the very beginning of a product life cycle (systems engineering) through its midlife (manufacturing) and out to end of life (up to and including shutting down factories when a product dies).
