Unlike fine wine, tats only get worse as THEY age. Nature abhors a vaccuum and bad art.

As for piercings...some of it works on the ladies, but guys don't need anything like that.

The one piece of jewlery that some men wear usually has a lifetime's worth of pain associated with it...and it goes on the "ring finger" of the left hand. With that, who needs the additional pain of additional metal jammed into/through various body parts?

Got one when I was in the Army and had it removed after I got out. Found that people treated me different when they saw my tattoo. (this was 25 years ago). I really hate it when a girl ruins a perfectly good set of boobs by putting a tattoo on them. The female form is beautiful all by itself without any adornments. Piercings, to me, make a statement of "I have no identity of my own so I bought one". To each his own though as some people seem to get a lot of joy from them, but it's not my thing. I can tell you that in a fight the guy with the pierced ears will lose real fast!

True, but an older person with saggy skin and high body fat % is gonna look ugly no matter if they have tattoos or not.

I dont see the point of them, have no compulsion to permanently scar my skin like that.

Yeah, I agree, I'm not into all these tongue, nose, lip, and eyebrow piercings. On a woman, only one piercing per ear lobe is enough. None of that multiple ear piercing. What's worse are these lobe piercings that guys and girls do where they put in some circular thing and you can stick something through it. How are you supposed to have people talk to you without being distracted by big holes in your lobes?

I prefer girls with no tats too.

'True Beauty needs no paint" some Chinese quote.
Personally, don't care for them. The barbed wire was/is stupid. Basically saying 'look at me I'm such a "Rebel", just like everone else'.
Way back in the early 80's, I was walking with some Japanese girls. They stared at a biker dude and his girl as they walked by. And I do mean stare. I really thought it might turn into a fight. The girls turned to me and told me they don't see tatoos in Japan. Only criminals have them. I heard the same thing from a Chinese friend. He was actually in a gang at one time. Didn't get any tatoos as it might down grade his propects for marriage latter on.
I went to Indonesia in the mid 90's. Some of the other people in our group had some tatoos. They were visable, but not promenent. I told they I thought that their tatoos might not be viewed favorable in that culture. We asked our host. He suggested they keep them covered. He told us that some years back, the government rounded up all the people with tatoos in the square and shot them. He marked that crime went down for a while.

I wont employ males with piercings or tats. The only exception is any one ex military with a tat associated with their service. Girls with more than one per ear either. Its my decision who works for me. Call it old fashioned if you will but I have found that some one, especially young ones with such self mutilation tend to have as little respect for their employers property as they do their body.

You probably saw the same stuff that I did when it was making the rounds on the net a few years ago. Really over the top!!!!

A young guy I had working in my shop had this girlfriend. He has no tats or fish hooks in his face but she was covered in tats. She had these two tats on each tat of roses with some sort of religious crap written beside or between them. It was one of those situations when you would had to have your face far too close for comfort before you could actually read whatever it was that was written. I took a pass on that one....

My 83 year old father came into the shop and kind of had a second look and then walked out. She had a very low cut top on and the roses were out on full display. My Dad wasn't very impressed and felt that I, ' Didn't need something like that around my business. '

It gets better. So, the young guy brings her to work with him once in a while ( I did put a stop to that, BTW ) and I got to talking to her one day. She was a foul mouthed, feather brained, drama queen, but basically a harmless 20 year old kid. Somewhere during the conversation the question of tats came up and she explaind what the roses were all about and what the religious slogans were. I can't even remember what she said now because none of it made any sense.
During that conversation I learned she had worked in an adult book store. Then she got on to religion. I asked her how old the earth is ( the only question you need to ask ) and she said about 6,000 years.

I went back to work......

I saw it in person. Seen a girl get her clitoris pierced and get off on it. Seen a guy yank out his pen1s and get rings all over the shaft pierced into them. Seen girls getting ringed all over their lips and not the upper set.

I'm good with reading it.

Well, I'm sure that he did things that his Dad felt were "over the top". I know my Dad did have some issues with his Dad and my Dad had some issues with me being "over the top" too. Seems like the last generation is fine with what they do but that is the line they have to hold. I'm sure if we had kids they too would be "over the top" in some things.

Diagnosis: Fruitcake

Why? Did you think the tats will leech over to you? Chicken

If I ever meet you and see you staring at my ears I'll know why

Uh, nooooo.....
Think of it this way. I was 55 years old at the time and running a restoration shop.
So there I'd be; examining this youg girls boobs in great detail, the roses on them, all the religious nonsense written all over them, and then in walks my 83 year old father...... just slightly worse than my wife.
Need I say more?

Tell them that you are reading the scripture to see if religion is right for you.

Say...... you wouldn't happen to remember towing a green 250SE Coupe over to Canada a few years back, would you?
I think it was for, '' He who shall not be named. ''

I got that car running and took it Toronto where I was supposed to meet him. The car had an exhaust leak and it just about knocked me out on the drive there. I had a budy with me who was driving his van and it was chuck full of extra bits and pieces that was supposed to be unloaded into this guys truck when we met . My buddy had to go on to Ottawa and he was being held up.

It was getting VERY late so I told my buddy to get going and drop all of this crap off at RS's place on his way home. This was asking a lot since it wasn't his stuff, he was going to have to unload it with no help, and he really didn't have to do it. Good thing he did though......
RS shows up at about 6:30PM long after the arrainged time. He had a very small truck ( maybe a Jeep ) which NEVER would of held all of this stuff we had with us. At this point he's holding ME up.

Where was he? Out to dinner with his wife, which is something he could have done AFTER he picked the car up. It was dark by this time and I still had a 3 -4 hour drive home. I was still feeling groggy from all of the fumes I inhailed on the way up but I drove home anyway.

NEVER again...........what a cluster $2&^$

I'm not terribly opposed although I am a bit dismayed that my kids have/like them.
Kids must think to themselves: "Let's see, in today's uncertain economy and competitive job environment, how can I make myself LESS marketable?"
For me, I'll just make my statement of individuality by NOT getting any.
