Now I see the "breaking news" where the CIA is operating in Libya, consulting with the rebels. If that ain't meddling I don't know what is.

If we are going to take over a country for their oil then let's do it and don't screw around. If we don't then who knows what kind of commander in chief they will end up with next. I'm suspect it will be someone that hates the US as much as Quadaffi.

OK no matter, what I still feel it's none of our business.

If there was a group of rag tag rebels trying to overthrow the US government would the UN send in planes and troops to assist ???

BUT the real funny part is we are attempting to support this group of ragtag rebels, just a bunch of guys with guns (well most have guns). No organization, no strategy, no training, basically go in shooting until somebody shoots back then RUN.

Here's from tonites news.
There's only a thousand of them.
They had a guy who was going to college here, flew back to join the rebels, bought a gun (AR-15 ??) but he doesn't know how to load it HUH
Another blip talked about some rebels using a mortar, didn't know how to set it up right, so they launched a motar round the wrong way, into their own troops.

SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG HERE, VERY WRONG.

I was wondering the same thing. I saw the guy they were talking to that had been attending college over here (he was actually in school in Canada) and I'm pretty sure the gun was not an AK47

The American peoples need to wake up and realize that these wars that we feel like we need to fight are going to drive us to the po house. Unfortunately, the majority of the American peoples are too worried about which porn star Charlie Sheen is sleeping with this week or that Paris Hilton forgot to put her drawers on. Kinda sad really.

To make sure we keep this thread on a lighter note I have attached a nice picture of the dogwoods that are in the yard. Arn't they pretty this time of year.

Dang I gotta remember to click that remember me checkbox, third time I've had to log in tonite. dummy

No I think it was an AR15 or 16, didn't show enough to tell which, actually have to get close to tell them apart.

I don't even care about 'driving us to the po house', well I do but not for the sake of this note.

It's just none of our D*M business, PERIOD, we have enough problems of our own to solve. If everything here was hummin along smooth as could be, MAYBE just MAYBE we could keep an eye on it.

Are we going to end up making more enemies in the ME for meddling in THEIR business.

In addition, I would no longer send any kind of "aid" (taxpayer money) to any other country until the US was out of the hole we are in.

Look at what Russia and China spend on defense. It is a fraction of what the US spends.
I'm sure there is no relation to Libya and it's oil. Coincidence perhaps?

You could but like everything else, there is always a price to pay. There is no such thing as you being able to do this and it is 100% good. If you are not the fawker, you probably are the fawkee.

China is becoming a huge player. Won't be long before they decide to start stretching their influence. The old USSR did the same thing.

Change you can believe in

Yeah, this is the change I was expecting from Obama: extending tax cuts for the rich and deploying our military to another oil rich country.

-Libya produces and exports 3.5% of the worlds oil.
-All oil production in Libya is controlled by the state, so it's sweet pickings for the private oil companies of the U.N. security council members once Gaddafi goes down.
-There are reports that a small part of the resistance that we're arming in Libya, The Libyan Islamist Fighting Group, is associated with Al Queda. Good to see our tax dollars going to a faction of Al Queda rather than our schools.
-There have already been reports of civilian deaths as a result of Coalition bombing. Fortunately, one Canadian pilot had the guts to abort a mission when he saw that there was a hospital in the vicinity of his target.

I'd like to see a primary challenge brought against Obama. It's time for people to say enough already with the corporate agenda. We need jobs with living wages, not wars and corporate welfare.

That's my Opinion Dump for the year.

The CIA is in Libya? This is news?

They have been there for years. It would not shock me to find they have people in the 'inner circle' since they usually do.

The British are there, too, and have been for several weeks.

Rebels in control of the coastal town of Tobruk have finally began to export oil.
Today a oil tanker was loaded with 1 million gallons of crude, which will first go to Quatar, be distributed from there.
Most of the supply is expected to go to Italy.

Libya news

lawmakers push military involvement

Aren't we fighting in enough countries already? Let's see, Mexico, Columbia, Libya, Afganistan, Pakistan and Iraq and these are the ones that are most obvious. Are we "winning" in any of them?

lol, sounds like it doesn't it

I'm not as crazy as the powers to be that that keep doing the same thing over and over and keep expecting to get different results.
