Looks like Libya is going to be another Iraq/Afganistan in the fact that US Taxpayers dollars will be pissed away for years to come with nothing changing. We should have learned from the Russians in regards to getting stuck in Afganistan.

I certainly hope not. The U.S. taxpayers have enough on their plates already.
But..When a Western country goes poking their noses around in ME business, things can get nasty fast , quick, and in a hurry.

I dont think it wise to jump to conclusions just yet though. All of the up-riseings havent reached a plateu yet.

Please be patient.

Weren't you the one that was so keen on THIS western country meddling? Suddenly it is the "Patience, don't meddle, etc, etc.".

I dont consider nuetraliseing Gadaffi meddeling.
I consider it a job that needs to be done.

The sooner the better.

So, lets not to make this a long drawn out endless debate.

Thats all I have to say about that.

Executing the leader of a sovereign country is not meddling. Interesting.

Are you serious? You are effectively supporting one side by holding back the other side. Not meddling is when you let events unfold by themselves, come what may.

Bingo. That is why you don't consider it meddling and are willing to give it a pass.

Nothing long and drawn out or endless. As soon as you fire one bullet, one artillery shell or even give one side a gun, you have meddled. What you mean to say is "I favor this action therefore it is not meddling.". OTOH, "Should I not favor it, it is meddling."

Dunno. We didn't execute Saddam. The Iraqis did. We haven't executed Gaddafi and probably won't so it isn't meddling either. Looks to me like Regime change, if he likes it is not meddling either. Should he not like it, it becomes meddling.

Lets be honest now. We meddled in Afghanistan, Iraq and now Libya. No ands, buts or ifs. Whatever the reason, it is still meddling so lets fess up and say honestly we meddled because it was to our benefit or so we saw at the time.

There you go Aklim.

All of the ME countries are about the same as Libya in regards to the way they are controlled/run and the way their citizens are controlled. We have not rushed to Syria to help those protesters where it seems the government forces are taking them out. Wonder why?

If I were pres I would do everything I could to pull every US soldier out of each and every &%$thole country that is not a part of the US and shut down every base that is not on our soil. In addition, I would no longer send any kind of "aid" (taxpayer money) to any other country until the US was out of the hole we are in.

Look at what Russia and China spend on defense. It is a fraction of what the US spends.

Isnt it all about how that leader plays the game? Gadaffi has hit 'tilt' on numerous occasions.
Besides , control has been turned over to N.A.T.O., thereby ,I would think taking the responsibility out of U.S. hands.
