If we're talking expensive beers, I've lately become rather fond of Sierra Nevada's Torpedo Extra IPA. I've never been known to turn down a Guinness or a Murphy's either. Pilsner Urquell is oddly difficult to find around here. I wish it wasn't.

I spent a coupla weeks in Brussels back in '81. The weather-it was right about this time of the year- was not that great but the food and beer made up for it.

Sadly not available in CT, but whenever I'm out of state I grab a case. Yuengling Light is a great boat beer.

Last night at our Passover Seder I was lamenting with some friends about not having any beer when my wife pointed out Budwiser is made with rice... It's not so bad afterall

Try Sierra Nevada Torpedo or Bigfoot. 7 and 9 something% alcohol respectively. Bigfoot is referred to as a barley wine.

I buy Yuengling Premium beer sometimes when the weather gets really hot. It's a bit lighter than the Lager-never tried the Light stuff.

Pilsner Urquell can be found at retail establishments all over the San Francisco bay area for you to buy. Even some of the San Francisco bartnders themselves like to drink it --- while on duty !!! I have seen it !

Sounds like it is time for a Reno-San Francisco beer run for you.

You can even order it at the better European bars in San Francisco. th0ough I seldom have frequented any of them. Especially since I mo9ved out odf the city back in 11/04. Those Czechs really know good bier, for sure.

And since you know what good beer is all about, you know the reasons that great beer is expensive.

It is simply WORTH it.

The only thing worse than drinking too much Budweiser is living less than a mile from the big AB Inbev brewery in South St Louis,waking up in the morning, feeling like crap, dragging myself out the door to go to work, and smelling the brewery smell as I walked out the door...it's enough to make ya puke every time.

I've been drinking Smithwick Ale lately...yummy.
