That sounds like a pretty healthy bottom end noise to me, and at the auctions I've heard alot of them.

Like I mentioned to you via text, that car will bring some pretty decent money ($1000-$1500) if you sold it through copart. That would leave enough money to buy a 240D or a 3800 series motor GM car and you'd be rid of this Daewoo.

Thats gotta be bottom end. Notice in you video that the noise is louder for the first second after starting the engine? Its because there is on oil pressure. Noises like that can travel through an engine sounding like something else and miss leading you. Pull the oil pan and rotate the crank. I think your gonna find a spun bearing on a connecting rod.
It doesnt mean all is lost but you'll probably have to replace the rod and have the crank turned or even get a replacement. None of this work is that difficult but you'll have to pull the engine.

Yeah, I suspect its not too hard. But I could probably just find a good used engine, put all the new timing stuff in. Drop it in and go.

If you shwed up at home in a new one, the neighbors would wonder whether you had just BOUGHT a new car, or just RENTED one.

You should really publish the year, engine size, emmission standard, and transmission type...
Theres a 05-06 aveo by me for sale, ran/drove great apparently. 40k? miles or so, just a collage runner. The owner is a friend, and during the storm yesterday, a tree fell on it. It's totaled, and the insurance buyback is $500. It's leaving Wednesday unless otherwise noted. If you would let me know the info, I can get back to the owner asap. Unsure what it would cost to ship the engine. I would remove it, and keep the car for payment for removal.

OR check through CoPart, it's a great resourse for buying salvage vehicles. If I was more savvy I would buy a membership through one of their partners for $300 yearly and flip cars for money.
