If business is so uncertain after all these years of cuts and not producing jobs it only makes sense to end the cuts and restore certainty, after all, thats what their excuse is, right
Of course it makes no sense to you.
Have you lost the ability to think for yourself?

I would be interested to see something to substantiate the suggestion that 9/11 has much to do with our current problems. The way we reacted to 9/11 might have adversely effected the economy, but that's our own fault. If we had our act together, I would expect something like 9/11 to knock us on our heals for a time, but I would not expect it to render us helpless to do anything about the current unemployment crisis.

That's why George Bush and the Tea Party are such tremendous gifts to our enemies. W is out of the picture now, but the Tea Party is carrying on the work of making sure that our economy stays in the dumps. They have divided the country better than any enemy ever could.

Could it be your just babbling?

One definite result of 9-11 was an unfunded war, based on lies told to the country, against a country which posed no danger to us.

Find those WMD's yet?

And yet you still insist it's President Obama's fault for not just pulling the plug and saying that's it we're done here.

Georgie boy broke it, now we own it.

I agree.

The U.S. armed forces have found the most plausible justification for military spending since the end of the cold war.

And they are playing it for all it is worth.

There is a good deal of cynicism in this, because in their own staff colleges they teach their officers that terrorism is primarily a domestic security problem, best addressed by police surveillance, intelligance-gathering, and barriers to free-movement like airport security checks.
Terrorists are civilians, and they are usually to be found where the uniformed military are absent.

But if the public wants a 'war' on terror, they'll be happy to provide one.

Just give them a budget, and they'll fight it.

So nice to hear from you again.

I'm not surprised that you consider my rant to be tripe. After all, it was just a rant, not intended to persuade anyone of anything. I am surprised, though, that you would ask the question, "WTF?". That question implies that you have no idea where my rant came from. Since my views are probably shared by about 50% of your countrymen, your puzzlement tells me that maybe you need to get out more often.

Jeezus, many of us agree that W was incompetent and in over his head. That alone doesn't preclude Obama from being the same.

Two and a half years in to his term and we're still in Iraq and Afghanistan, but now we're dicking around in Libya, Somalia, Yemen, Pakistan and a couple players to be named later. We've dumped a Trillion into the economy under the auspice of bringing the slump to a halt with virtually no results and are considering another Tril or two. At some point Obama owns this mess. Maybe we're not to that point yet, but there's been a sizable down payment

I'd like to think that you guys are just defending your respective parties/candidate/President for the sake of argument rather than steadfast beliefs that your guy is right and just and the other guy is wrong and irresponsible. But maybe not. It's not automatically an "either/or" discussion, it could be an "and" one. It could be that Bush and Obama suck.

Anyone got some Tylenol?
