Two and a half years in to his term and we're still in Iraq and Afghanistan, but now we're dicking around in Libya, Somalia, Yemen, Pakistan and a couple players to be named later. We've dumped a Trillion into the economy under the auspice of bringing the slump to a halt with virtually no results and are considering another Tril or two. At some point Obama owns this mess. Maybe we're not to that point yet, but there's been a sizable down payment

I'd like to think that you guys are just defending your respective parties/candidate/President for the sake of argument rather than steadfast beliefs that your guy is right and just and the other guy is wrong and irresponsible. But maybe not. It's not automatically an "either/or" discussion, it could be an "and" one. It could be that Bush and Obama suck.

Anyone got some Tylenol?
I agree with all of that except the part about the stimulus having "virtually no results." My rant was not intended to defend Obama. It was in response to MSFowler's suggestion that 9/11 is a significant factor contributing to the unemployment problem. That's why I jumped back in time for a moment. I'm entitled to rant now and then, aren't I?

Difference is Bush is retired...and has been over 2.5 years, he CAN'T run for office again

.....Obama is STILL in office and still blaming Bush for the problems he created himself.....has Obama actually accepted blame for anything yet? Or is he still blaming everyone else like any other inner city thug does when they get caught?

If Obama had any self respect....or Honor. He'd act like a man and resign...because he clearly doesn't have a clue about anything. Babblin Joe would have to be better than he has been, in any case Boehner would.

Obama is 50 years old and hasn't had a real job yet in his life.....no wonder he doesn't have a clue of what to do. He's in over his head and isn't man enough to admit it.

This is the one time I think Parliament has a good idea....they don't HAVE to wait until the next election to get rid of someone.

^^ Lets see...The Taliban are 'Towel-heads', in your estimation.
Obama is an 'Inner-city thug' as well.

Could it be your Phobia's are showing their sinister selves again?

There are ways to communicate, and get your point across, without using disparaging slurs you know.

Part of the war in Iraq is spending billions on social projects for the "towlheads". Bush claimed he invaded Iraq to rid the country of Hussein, as if he was doing the "towlheads" a favor.
I think a penny of our money and a drop of our blood is too much to spend on the "towlheads". You on the other hand seem quite conflicted in your reasoning for the 2 wars. Bush was pretty much the same. You voted for Bush dincha?

He's just bored. People living in cushy comfortable Northern VA have very little to complain about, except maybe traffic.

Do you know that to be so?

Is he an attorney?

I thought he was either addled (possibly) or just enjoying being pubescent (more likely).

Your suggesting that he is sincere and this represent cogent thought.

You're putting me on.

I'm not surprised that you consider my rant to be tripe. After all, it was just a rant, not intended to persuade anyone of anything. I am surprised, though, that you would ask the question, "WTF?". That question implies that you have no idea where my rant came from. Since my views are probably shared by about 50% of your countrymen, your puzzlement tells me that maybe you need to get out more often.

I don't agree with all that you are saying but I do congratulate for how politely but clearly you have expressed yourself.

Keep it up.

Well stated!!!

I don't understand Bush and it sure seems he was in way over his head but let's start dealing with today's issues shall we.

Good thing its just boredom, as opposed to being feuled by alchohol..or some deep-seated psycological dis-order.

@SJH...please refer to posts # 135..and 152.

Your "argument" was already way past the point of "illogical extreme." The concept of creating two distinct classes of US citizenship, one that can vote and one that cannot, is quite extreme.

This thread has degenerated into a lot of name-calling and insults with very little rational argument.
