Seriously...are you actually considering paying that kind of money for a toilet?

I was at my lovely daughter #4's house this week. They have those low profile toilets which swirl the flushing action and makes a relatively silent flush with no gigantic sucking fartlike sounds. I am considering one of them in my toilet which resides next to our sleeping chamber.

That's just the optional seat. Toto makes a full toilet that is like a super bidet combined with a toilet. About $3k, or maybe $6K, I forget. The seat is much more affordable. I have a homemade bidet attachment thingy for my toilet and, oh those-uh Freenchmen, they have done a good thing when they invent the bidet, no?

But, all seriousness aside, the Toto toilet line is the best, IMHO. The Toto eco drake, 16 inch tall, is some kind of groovy toilet. I've installed 3 or 4, it's my new favorite:

Product Detail

It's the ADA compliant model which means it's taller - 16 or 16 1/4 high. The only time the ADA acronym is any good.

Yes, but it should be a separate entity from the bog -- you don't really want to mix excreting and cleaning in the same appliance, especially for the ladies!

Doesn't bother me. The water that is er, uh, directed upon the outer regions of my anal orifice is from a sprayer on a tube from tap water, the effluent drains down into the bog. Not more or less objectionable than feces making the plop, plop action.

find a toilet from the 50s with a big tank and redo the inards with commercial parts, if needed, polish it up and install. Scads better than the junk out today AND you'll save water, because everything goes down with one flush.....

The earlier low flow toilets were indeed, uh, crappy but the latest generation, especially the Totos, are much better. The new 1.28 gallon Totos perform much better than the 1.6 gallon models of 10 to 15 years ago.
