North of Dallas there was once a rock quarry that went out of business many years ago. They left a deep hole, about 60 feet, that filled with water

The bottom of the hole was filled with Jags, Volvos and SAAB's from the 70's. All of them had been reported as theft cars, and all of them had owners that were upside down on them.

I think the cops just let it slide as the stat of limitations had run out.
That would be a common occurrence in the river Thames. I wish I could find that quarry, I could really use some parts for my Jags and if anything, years of sitting under water would probably improve the electrical system

A Saab story!
Had one for a very brief period of time, didn't like it. Neighbor bought one that was functioning but I haven't seen it move for about two weeks now

I used to ride my trail bike in a quarry just out of the capital here about 30 years ago, there was a big deep pit in part of it.
Locals called it "midnight motor wreckers", must have been 50 or 60 late model cars in it.
PD used to go down there on Sunday mornings & check for any new arrivals.
Dont know how many spares I got out of there.
Saw a couple of guys using a winch to get a motor & trans out of the pit once.
Every year or so some DB would set them alight & spoil it for a while.

The ones made after GM took over were awful for a number of years. They improved once they became the 9-3 but according to a friend who worked at a shop that had several customers with them, they're a serious PITA for some jobs and the parts are expensive.

Hard to believe how SAAB and Volvo went down the crapper.
Not really, socialist union run companies seldom last. SAAB should have stuck to building planes.

Yeah I know someone who just bought a new Saab and they are that stupid.

Nice cars though, if I could pick up a 2010 for oh $5k I'd roll the dice.
