If not I'm going to have to pursue getting my money back through other means. I'm done with this joker.

I have bought probably 15 guns in the past couple of years and have never had this problem.
Invite some friends to rummage around the store as you discuss the issue with the owner.

I've done that before and that tactic works very well. I never have that problem because in person I look like a crazed serial killer, I usually scare the crap out of them. If they only knew that I wouldn't hurt a flea.

The kicker is that this guy is really dumb. If he played his cards right me and my two other friends probably would have bought $10k worth of guns from him in the next 6 months.

Me and my two friends all want Scar 17's, and probably a couple Ak's and a few FAL's.

Now their isn't a chance in hell of me buying another gun from him.

If I bought this rifle from my usual gun store the owner would have been all over it and I wouldn't have had to worry. But he is a good guy and actually cares about customer service. As a result his shop is small but you literally have to take a number to buy a gun. You go into one of these big shops and they are not that busy but they have impressive displays and locations. All the people inside are lookers, or as they say in Texas they have big hats and no cattle. This guy has a hole in the wall and has never advertised, but he is always jammed and unlike the other shops with lookers his customers have wads of cash and are buying guns and lots of ammo.

Customer service makes a difference!

Bethany Firearms Inc - Bethany, CT

This is the best gun store in the world, the owner is an ex marine and will stand behind his product like you won't beleive. I will continue to only shop here with cash.

He sent it back to the manufacturer, he's at their mercy in terms of info on your gun.

That said he sounds like a douche nozzle. I dont understand why people like that (not answering phones, getting back to you etc) open up businesses.

I understand he is at their mercy, all I was asking for was an update. He never even made the effort to call Century to get an update on my rifle. He bragged about how much business he did with them when I bought it. You would think such a big wheel would have someone to call to get updates on what's going on, besides the standard 1800 number.

If he simply said I called them and they are shut down to January that would be fine with me.

I'm not hard to do business with, just don't blow me off.

Anyway I sent an email to Century's head office and will be calling on Monday for an update on the rifle. I'm pretty sure Century will replace it as is their policy. So he has no reason not to give me my money back when I ask for it. He gets a new gun, I get my cash, what's the problem with that??
