There's a documentary called Never Talk to the Police or something close to that - worth seeing.
I was thinking about this lately 'cause of some other stuff that came to my attention. Who do you think is the enemy in the war on drugs? You are. Same with the war on terrorism, war on poverty, etc. I like fried chicken. |

While driving in the UK - you have them zones called "average speed zones" in which multiple speed cameras measure your vehicle speed over a distance - say 1 mile - and if it calculates that your average speed to cover that distance is a little too quick - CHA CHING - TIKKIT.
similary they have yellow piggy banks (speed cameras) lined up on motorways (big highways) here sucking money from you, go upnorth somewhere on the M6 where it is tolled - and you are greeted with "flying piggy banks".. cameras on helicopters. Some counties there have Mitsubishi Lancer EVO and Subaru Impreza STis for cop cars and those bunch know how to work a powerful car.

you know what I mean. dont be silly.
Theres a big difference between reckless driving, and cruising speeding occasionally on the highways 8-10 over. Im sure you do it too, everyone does from time to time.

yes, now that would be bad. I was once picked up for leaving the scene of an accident mistakenly. I was walking home drunk, and limping (old knee injury), so you can imagine how guilty I looked.
Had nothing to do with it, but definitely ruined my pleasant dream like walk home. Had me down at the station in a lineup and everything. Guy had been driving drunk and hit a phone pole, caused a bunch of property damage, smashed some cars, closed off a busy street, and ran for it. I was two blocks away limping. Cops were pretty angry

Or the Steven Wright routine:
Officer: Why were you going so fast? Me: See this thing my foot is on? It's called an accelerator. When you push down on it, it sends more gas to the engine. The whole car just takes right off. And see this thing? This steers it. |

"do you know why I pulled you over?"
The answer to that should have been "how could I possibly know why YOU did something?" Sure, that'll get you the ticket, but you're not going to talk your way out of it anyway. He or she is just looking for anything to use against you. That's their job. You should only provide them with your documentation and answer questions related to the same. |

Last ticket I got was in a VA speed trap. We had been traveling ~75 on the interstate all day across 3 states.
Officer: Do you know why I stopped you? Me: I figured that you would tell me. Officer: Do you know how fast you were going? Me: I haven't received a ticket in years so apparently I normally drive the speed limit. Him: You were doing 78 in a 60. Me: I don't think so. Perhaps we'll meet again in court. I consider police to be armed and dangerous thugs who have authority conferred only and unfortunately by their badge and do my best to stay away. I paid the ticket & went on. Back in my younger days in Chicago, one could keep the ticket off one's record by simply entrusting the officer to deliver your fine dollars to the proper authority. A $100 bill usually took care of it. Alternatively, a discussion with your Democratic precinct captain would work. Richard J Sr was in control. I seem to remember his shoot to kill order around 1968 also. Those were the days. We could even go to the store without being on camera the entire time.

The last time I was pulled over, the officer asked me if I knew why...I told him it was probably because I had my CC set at 85 in a 65 zone. Since i was truthful with him about it, he just gave me a warning and told me that there were 2 other officers about a mile up the road...What a nice guy
