Moths are cool. If you really want to exceed windspeed, iceboats are the thing.

But that requires multiple layers of clothes to sail in! I just don’t understand how that can be fun

I have never tried a wheeled beach sailing contraption. . Anyone on this thread?

My iceboat has wheels that can be installed in place of the skates. I've never used them. My iceboat is a Manta which is a landsailer which someone converted by making the skates to replace the wheels.

Never got into those newer sailboats, they don't do anything for me. Cat's too, my dad likes the cat powerboats but I just can't get interested in one.

IMO high performance doublehanded cats like F-18’s and Nacra’s are for sailors that want to go fast, and are too impatient to tune real boats. Also...the knowledge of racing tactics in local fleets is pathetic.

Stars....who knows. The shift is faster boats anyways. The Elliot match racing boats are faster than stars now...making Stars the pigs of the Olympic fleet. Seems like a natural progression.
