Writing a book maybe on it. the pictures are an aid to that and it's nice to keep track month by month how the plants are doing. all the pictures are on my facebook acct right now.

I'd love to get seeds from the 'source' as it were, but there is no place here like the place you work at that I'm aware of, and I'm sure if there was. they wouldnt sell to the public.
Gotcha. Certainly sounds like an interesting exercise! I might just have to breakdown and get active on FB again to check them out.

PM sent.

I may have a youtube link up somewhere. I'll check it out and see. All total though. plants buckets and soil I have about 50 bucks invested in it. I'm quite happy with the results. Despite Several setbacks. the Deer here suck. They ate my Cucumber plants. They also tried to kill my strawberry plants (both buckets) the strawberrys rebounded. the cucumbers... well, they diddnt and I lost the plants. I've replanted one bucket with pumpkins and the other with water melons. I still plan on planting Cantaloupes etc... this project has taken off.. and with nothing really better to do, It keeps me busy and mostly out of trouble

Nice little enterprise!

We don't have too much space here but we have managed to get in some gooseberries, 2 pear trees, 2 apple trees and a bit of space for some sweet corn (like 2 stalks!) strawberries and some sun flowers. Most of the edible stuff is to try and entice the children away from prodding the chickens with sticks...

...the majority of the garden is given over to flowers (wife's domain - I have garage and an ever diminishing bit of drive way).

Deer are a big issue here as well. If you feel like playing around a bit, any of those vine-producing plants (cukes, squash, pumpkins) will grow up a trellis. Growing them upward gives you more room to grow more things. My brother did a bunch of pumpkins and squash in Earth Boxes last year and built some trellis' out of conduit and string and was pretty successful. It was very strange seeing the Jack O'Lantern pumpkins hanging there. Obviously, one needs to be sure that the trellis is firmly anchored if one is going to (potentially) cover it with 15-20 lb. pumpkins. Of course, they would then be the perfect eating height for the deer.

I have a lot more space to actually do this... but in containers it's quite easy to keep care of, and move away from the damned deer (4 legged pains in my lower half) they seem to stay away from some of my plants but will readily eat others... It's a perverse and slow game of keep away. I'm thinking of putting up a solar powered electric fence about 6" off the porch.... that'll show em... maybe

this is actually next years project. seeing how tall I can get vine bearing plants and how far up they'll produce. I've planted (on the reccomended fashion) the 3 sisters with the corn. Squash, whose broad leaves will shade the soil and keep it moist, Corn, and beans who will re nitrify the soil the corn uses. and as an added bonus the corn becomes a trellis for the beans. too soon to tell how this will work.

So much for a digital camera thread.

Oh, the Mrs. says she had a similar issue it looks like a memory card issue.

I'm thinkin the same... darn it. I just dont have another 30 bucks to spend on one of these.... atleast it's not the camera or shouldnt be the cam. I'd hate to have to replace it. It's been a good camera. I'll start a new thread for my container garden. who knew. It's an interesting topic on here

I spent $12 on my 8GB card... When I bought my camera I saw how much they wanted for the cards! It was ridiculous!

Its now cheaper!
