Really depends on the law. Was Rosa Parks wrong in sitting at the front of the bus? How about Mr. Scopes for teaching evil-lution? Or even Col von Stauffenberg? I like to think that there's a higher law as well as laws made by humans.

Gandhi and crew felt they had put up with the salt tax laws long enough. If they were to meekly complied for decades upon decades, why would it change?

I'm not impressed with the idiots who break windows at Starbucks or the GAP but I believe civil disobedience has its place.

I'm sure I read the part where you said "But I still like them."

My apologies for lack of clarity.

I like some aspects of Greenpeace but I parted ways with them over their earlier incarnation that promoted vandalism and their later incarnation that is increasingly intolerant of wise use conservation.

Greenpeace? Nah. Too polite. Rainbow Warrior should have been armed with a Silkworm missile or ten, and its crew issued with Kalashnikovs. Might have made a bit of a difference in New Zealand, 1985.

"The so-called "Wise Use" movement is an industry-front and anti-environmentalist organization founded by Ron Arnold in the late 1980s, primarily dealing with timber and mining issues in the western US."

Darn, Botnst just reminded of my secret "boss" crush who is vegan and into that sort of environment/animal welfare thing. She gave me a vegan brochure published by PETA many months back because I told her I was interested in trying out a vegetarian-vegan diet. Maybe I should have signed up with GP to show her I'm hardcore too Hmmm, come to think of it, maybe I'll ask her for her opinion of GP.

If you're both single, ask her for drinks after work and THEN ask for her opinion of Greenpeace. She's just a co-worker, not your sister or cousin. What are you waiting for? Go.

Jobs are replaceable. Crushes unacted upon may not be, and there's no reason to keep this sort of thing a secret to your f**king grave.

Sure, in this economy, jobs are a dime a dozen (certain jobs maybe). And of course the boss is stupid enough to risk a sexual harassment suit for you and while we are at it, the company is going to be waiting for you to "**** or get off the pot".

Cousin in some places is ok and I'm good with sister. At least you have 1 less set of in laws to deal with.

Last I checked, it's not a crime nor worthy of a lawsuit to go out for a drink with your boss after work. Happens all the time, even in a platonic sense.

If it becomes a friendship and they're both still interested, then he'll have the choice to resign, speak to her, and continue things as a relationship (or not). A professional relationship isn't a life sentence last I checked.

Your logic = welcome to the p*ssyfication of America.

Crime, no. Risky, yes. I wouldn't be stupid enough to date an employee. If it doesn't work out and she goes away, fine. If she screams "sexual harassment", my goose is cooked. If other employees see us dating, they too could scream that because of our relationship she gets preferred treatment. Sorry, seen that and learned from that mistake. I ain't that stupid nor do I think it is worth the risk of a suit or to have unhappy employees insinuate things. You go for it in your own company but I put too much blood, sweat and tears in mine to have that happen to mine. I'll sit back and watch someone else go up in smoke.
