The more I think about the OP, the more insulting it is. Intentionally so, I believe.

Have we degenerated to the point where a difference of opinion is now "hate"? A posting like the OP is not intended to further debate and discussion of issues, but to silence all criticism by calling it hate. That tactic is disgusting.

LOL! Those guys constantly fly through my valley. I can't say I blame 'em trying to grab the low hanging fruit. I personally would never grow cannabis because The Risk is far too great. With the RICO laws all of ones assets are seized. I qualify for medical cannabis in fourteen states, unfortunately Tennessee isn't one of them

Of course the piece is insulting. It is meant to be. It is a response to the naked hatred and intolerance which is so often displayed by the right. Yes, 'hatred', no other word fits as well. Think Rush Limbaugh, would you not describe his rhetoric as hate filled? Or is he espousing debate and discussion of issues?

If the piece does not speak to you directly, because you do not carry the stigma of hatred in your beliefs, then good for you. You are not alone. However, there are people who fit the OP description to a T.

The fact that you came eventually to the feeling of disgust is somewhat reassuring.

Guerrilla Grows can be just as dangerous, but you're correct in that they are far less dangerous than growing on your own land.

Hatred may be self consuming to some degree. I always found it enough to row my own boat through life. Not bearing a load like hatred as well.

Personally I never had the want, desire or time to engage in it. There is no productive upside with it as far as I can tell either. I tend to see it as a personality disorder that not much can be done about other than outlawing what can be outlawed about it.

I even wonder if hatred may be a byproduct of illiteracy, I have seen it used to justify a persons self inflicted financial situation. Even the amount of deaths over the years that have resulted from it are too excessive .

I agree.
I also wonder if hatred might spring from fear?
Perhaps this emotion has been with us for a long, long time..dating back to when the first cave man crushed the skull of another in order to protect his clan/food supply.

* Is hate an emotion, or a charecter flaw?

It is unfocused. It generalizes a large number of people and argues they are all think alike.

If we were to use that kind of rhetorical argument (generalization then dismissal) against a racial or ethnic group would it still have been okay? If not, then why is it okay to use it against ANY group?
