Tweaked monologue from the movie "Taken" for your negotiations.

What I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for your competition. If you hire me now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

I can't use that...they make small arms for DHS, LEO, DOD and the UK SAS. LOL

Good thinking, though...

Ooops, sorry to jump the gun (har har ). Sending all the positive vibes I can send, jp!

I'm sure as you're finding out, there aren't many guys with your skill set (and work ethic) that are younger than you (and I). I'd imagine most of them are a decade+ older. That puts you in a pretty good spot!

Just a heads up to pay close attention to SC schools. I'd advise to have the wife go to schools in the district you are planning on settling in and let her spend some time in each one.

Home schooling is an option. The wife and I home schooled our oldest son for two years. when he started HS he was miles ahead of everyone else. Just my $.02 worth.

There's not many left, that's for sure.

One of the things they want me to do is to identify 4 candidates within the company from both plants, and teach them what I know. Most of that area is either farming, fishing or forestry...the skill set isn't within them, but it can be taught. I'm actually looking forward to teaching young minds, helping keep the trade alive in the USA.

Being 40 years old (as of yesterday) I'm starting to see just how un-skilled today's workers are. They can't grasp the idea of machining intricate parts on a manual machine...all they know is how to load parts and hit the green button, easily taught to a monkey. They have forgotten that mathematics is key to everything we do. They can't grasp the concept of calculating trig formulas without using a computer. While computers have helped the trade over the years, it's hampered growth as well.

We plan on checking everything out before making the final decision on location.

I woke up to the funeral march playing on the stereo, and black balloons all over the bed...

Paybacks are in order here...

Yeah, and if you need a pilot for the Gulfstream, I should be finished with my commercial by then. Maybe they'll pay for my type training.
