It's true, both sides have been at each other for a long time. I remember Nixon's election when protestors had drawings of Tricky-Dicky with a flaccid phallic nose. And the Carter as Alfred E Neuman. I wouldn't doubt there are unflattering nicknames of Geo Washington and This Jefferson.

Of course, any criticism or vile assertions concerning Nixon were, and still are fully justified.....just because.

I was just thinking this morning that Obama is probably approaching Nixon in arrogance. His childish reaction to the Supreme Court's ruling, more or less in his favor on the Arizona case, is an example.
What if Nixon, when ordered to turn over the 'tapes", instead, held a public bonfire on the WH lawn and destroyed them?
