Apparently, the powers that be really didn't want enforcement of the TOU. Too many people run and cry about it.

Now you have a forum where the rules are largely ignored by the Mods. Makes for an easier day for them............not so excellent for everybody else, however.
Rules have merit, however, would strict specific adherence fit the bill to a site looking for revenue as a main source and forums as an attractive lure to engage in sales?

What was the purpose of the website? To eliminate potential customers or solicit new ones. Granted, lots come by just to agitate but who should decide in the long term?

I must ask, in light of strict adherence to the rules, in your MB.......You've never violated the rules for the speed limit
?

I think that most here will say you are more left than right. You regularly use the statement "It sucks to to you" as a description of those to the rights views. Perhaps your voting record is different than your online persona. IDK. No matter what you tend to be clear and reasonable; more than others who seem to be left bent.
If you bend to the left and you vote as such then you own what the left does- just as if you vote to the right you own what you voted. You cannot separate that you do not like what the left does if voted left and the same for the right. All of this to a degree- not absolute.

Naturally, you are correct. Folks do not like to get stopped for speeding tickets, whether they are guilty or not.

My only criticism was the fact that the moderators are present to enforce the stated rules. It should not be their option to ignore those rules to prevent agitating the populace. It's the responsibility of the owner to change those rules if he believes they are onerous. Responding to the hue and cry of excessive moderation by removing the moderator for enforcing the TOU shows the character of the man.

I'm a logic and reason person- and this shows logic and reason- which is why you make sense and were a better Mod.

You think?

How about some data to support what you think? Or is this just another unsubstantiated opinion, for which you're racking up plenty tonight. This would be #3.

Apparently, you have me confused with Lim. "It sucks to be you" is his statement, not mine. I borrow it on occasion but if you believe I "regularly use it", you're going to have to prove that statement. Otherwise, that would be unsubstantiated opinion #4 tonight.

Here's a clue for you. The world is not black and white, despite what you believe regarding "voting left" or "voting right". The candidates offered up are always "middle of the road" because they must be. Some might lean a bit right and others a bit left, but, at the end of the day, it hardly matters.

I can vote for a Democrat because I believe the Republican candidate might kick off and leave a total and complete moron in charge of the country. This hardly means that I'm "left leaning". It only means that I voted for a safer middle of the road bet.

You really need to get rid of this partisan BS that you have going onward. The two parties are fundamentally similar and neither of them have your best interests at heart.

You tend to be on the left is what most here would/do think. If you voted for BHO then you voted for the stuff he's AFTER he become POTUS. I have no desire to substantiate anything to you about my opinions of you; besides, your opinion that JR is actually conservative is the crowning cake of the evening.

Each individual decides who is to the right or left based on his own perception. Most of us probably think we are the paragon of fairness. Everybody else is off the mark.

It's not unlike flocking behavior, in which we want to be in the human flock and not too far from the center. Nor do we want to precisely duplicate our nearest neighbors. But not too far, either.

In truth, most of us are rightish on some things and leftish on others and confused on a the remainder. The mass movement of the flock determines which bird 'leads'.

Its been my experience that a certain forum group tries to dominate the boards which is not acceptable, and it is apparent here by those wishing you to return are part of that problem.
You claimed in my 6 months I have demeaned this forum......while demeaning your forum as I have, sitting by and observing things, more often than not, I have seen an apparent disregard for the posted rules of conduct by the daily regulars more than newbies like me. So tell me if your reign of terror was any less tolerant than what I have seen so far. From what I've seen, you have a following from the days past which leads me to believe you were compromised as a moderator or you wouldn't have been removed.

I believe you need to rewrite the first sentence properly to make your question have clarity.

You've been here six months. You have no capability to judge what occurred between two and four years ago. You can lead yourself to believe anything your heart desires.

Mods are here to keep the forum from getting insane. Too much enforcement results in a safe, moribund site. Too much freedom results in a cacophony of foolishness that alienates most people who tend to be more calm and generous than those of us who are committed post-whores.

Rule-oriented people hate lack of enforcement. It's like a cop. Most of us would hate the job -- WGS if you go 76 mph on the interstate with clear roads and dry conditions in daylight? Many cops get all bent out of shape. You violated the rule! OMG!

OTOH, most of us really don't want highways with no rules. In my estimation there is no perfect solution. All one has to do is look within one's own heart and imagine the system that would result from one's own view of rule enforcement. Even if paid an exorbitant salary a large number of people would think you were an insane follower of the written rules and a large number would wonder about your laxity.

Everybody wants their mommy to punish the bad people. Please mommy, please!

That is nonsense, I don't think, I know I am the paragon of fairness.

I'm confused by most politicians and politics and my life remains mostly unaffected by who is in the White House so I generally don't care much about politics. Wait, I'm not confused by politicians, they are all liars.

However , I have longer experience dealing with out of control moderators on several forums I have either moderated or administrated and Brian, you fill the bill as someone who is a problem moderator.

I would disagree with that statement. From what I can tell most (or perhaps just the loudest) did not like BC as a mod. Many belittled him while he was a mod. Just look back to what Tx posted about him in this thread.

BC can have an impulsive quick response lashing out when people pull his strings but overall I thought he was a good mod and always was able to back up his actions when people tried to call him out on his actions.
