Does Colorado have a concealed carry law? Someone should have been armed in that place. I heard that police were there, but that's not enough. A few good shots with their pistols on hand could have probably minimized the loss of life.

We're not talking a shooting gallery, we're talking about self defense. Holmes is the one that made it a shooting gallery. He deserves whatever he gets. It would have served EVERYONE better if someone would have taken him out while in the act, that is unless you're against saving lives.

more foolish ridicule of a possible way to defend oneself. are you saying that people do NOT have the right to defend their life? Should we just wait for the police to get there along with EMS to draw chalk lines and zip up body bags

Yes I have a problem with this. Twelve people are dead and all you can come up with is your delusion. Nobody is talking about confiscating your toys, just in your head...who is the nut?

And just to get it out of the way I like guns, shoot some rounds at the angeles shooting ranges occasionally and I'm pretty good at it. It's a great way to spent a Sunday.

IF you paid attention to what I wrote and were not trying to make a point, you would have noted I first wrote that it was a horrible thing. And, it was a tragic loss of life perpetrated by a sick individual. My SECOND comment was that it will be fodder for the anti gun people, which it will be. How does any of this label me as a "nut" as you seemingly infer in your counter. I am far from a nut, I am a professional, prior commissioned officer in the Army and a rational citizen. The fact that I am concerned that hysterical nut jobs and those with a more sinsiter agenda want to curtail the rights of citizens regarding the Second Amendment in no way makes me a nut. Further, I am glad that you shoot, it is a good hobby and keeps skills honed that hopefully you will never have to use to defend yourself or your family. Thankfully, we live in a country where you have the right to do such.
