Racist MSNBC?

During last night's ( Tuesday) coverage of the republican Convention, they did not air a single speech made by " a person of color". They went to commercial, or cut to commentators commenting, but somehow they were able to avoid showing any speakers who were not white. Isn't this the same network that said this would be the "whitest" convention in modern history? So they edited to event to make their prediction appear to be true.

No wonder so few people view MSNBC.

It came from a liberal, so it isn't racist...it's solid reporting.

I threw up a bit in my mouth while typing that...

I didn't watch it (putting that out there first and foremost) but who were those that spoke? How many AA/minority speakers were there, and their importance? I have to imagine at least Michael Steele and Bobby Jindal were there?

The harvest of the earth is ripe and the sickle will swing.
They'll sell you freedom at the cost of your dignity.
Sugar-coated consequences.
Bar code scans and barb wired fences.
Prescriptions filled with pestilence.

No man knows the hour, the hour or time...

Control is a cancer they will give. Devastation is our culture's creed.
As if the whole world had the same American dream, or at least that's how our media would make it seem.

-- "vultures" by Wrench in the Works (extremely talented Christian metal band from my old stomping grounds...good guys, donated almost all of their proceeds to charities). Probably not in the style of anyone on this board, but as a media critic I enjoy this! I thought MS might appreciate it too as our bias consultant.

That darn MSNBC!

Tampa, Florida (CNN) – Two people were removed from the Republican National Convention Tuesday after they threw nuts at an African-American CNN camera operator and said, “This is how we feed animals.”

Must have been something about the atmosphere at the convention that emboldened Romney and Ryan to do such a thing.

I would too. I watch most debates on fox because I generally disagree with their commentators. It's a good perspective to have IMO. Dont watch things you agree with, watch things you don't and figure out why. This is one reason why MS has well founded opinions/stances on topics and I genuinely enjoy debating him on here.

Jindal was home taking care of Issac business....I wish he could have made it but his home state job was his first priority.

Hey you think it was the same people who stole the rock from Rick Perry's hunting lodge?

I've been watching it on CSPAN...not commentators to listen to so that I can continue to make up my own mind.

Here is a list of female speakers from CNN. Can you pick the non-white ones?
Some of the most high-profile speakers were women, ranging from congressional candidate Mia Love of Utah, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers of Washington, Sen. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire and Govs. Mary Fallin of Oklahoma and Nikki Haley of South Carolina.

I started the thread just to demonstrate ( yet again) the subtlety of media bias. MSNBC did not mis-report--they just managed to plan their time so as to NOT report what was happening, and to reinforce the white image they wanted to report.
