Does anyone have any recommendations for covered vehicle shipping?

I'm trying to make a deal on a car for sale in Florida, and the deal is hinging on getting it brought to me out here in California... Car is 100% stock, but does sit a little on the lower side.

It really needs to be covered - its almost winter and I don't want anything to happen to the paint/bodywork.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I thought about flying out and driving it back, but with the year end and old man winter coming, I don't quite have the time and weather really won't allow me to drive it back...

TIA

Exclamation

Bruce Mendel in PA. is dialed into the network of good car shippers.

He can set it up for you to get bids for the job.

I absolutely agree on closed shipping, but further - get one on the upstairs level of the trailer so there is no chance of any oil or fluid dripping down from above from someone's car on the upper level onto *YOUR* car.

If you are in a huge hurry lmk and I can give you the contact information on the excellent carrier Bruce M. got for me, (he is out of the Riverside/San Bernadino area) that transported the 1990 560SEC to whom I sold a couple of years ago --- the guy in Tampa, Florida - who amazingly I met this summer for the first time in person, in Geneva Switzerland in June this year, he was a classical musician about your age playing in Swiss concerts this summer, and we toured around awhile in Switzerland, Italy and France for a while...(what a small world!)

PS: PEOPLE ON HERE ARE GONNA ASK TO SEE PIC'S OF THE CAR YOU BOUGHT....... SO GIVE IT UP!!! \o/

I used to work for an outfit that did a lot of testing on prototypes. The military ones usually just came in on a flat bed, but the others were always carried by a firm called Reliable Carriers. We never had an issue with them.

I once bought a car at one end of the country and had it shipped across country. I bought it in January and there was no practical way to drive it at that time as it is a 2wd car. The shipper I used was crap but that’s beside the point.

Do yourself a HUGE HUGE HUGE favor and hop in an airplane, fly to Florida, and drive the car home. Driving time is about 45 hours or so; the conditions are still mild across the country, and you can do it in about 4-5 days or less. It will probably cost less than shipping, take way less time than shipping, it and you will never regret having done so.

I really would love to do that, but I really don't have the time for that. I love road trips, and the car I am looking at would be wild to drive back across the country. But, at the same time, I am worried about potential damage to the Mars Red paint....

ask

Ask Tyler who he has used. I've never transported a vehicle covered.

Cross country road trips are fun. I've done Carson City to Atlanta and back more than once. Most recently was in a 240D. I did it in January 2010 and managed to not run into any snow.
