I also had to disconnect the gas Burners from the Stove because My Wife would be off watching TV while stuff She was cooking on the Stove Burning.

I replaced the Stove with a Electric Skillet (the highest heat is 450 degrees making it harder to burn stuff in it) and when We need to boil water We use an Electric Rice cooker; every thing else is cooked in the Microwave oven.

I also bought an Electric Convection Oven; it has a timer so it is also harder for Her to burn stuff in it.

Most of the above is survival related.
Hmmm. Can't cook, burns food, uses too much paper towel...trophy wife or a strategic thinker?

Neither of the above.

I tell Her She is not a Perfect Wife; just the Perfect Wife for Me.

Perhaps it just falls into the "Crazy Love" category.

I read that the French Foreign Legion issues a Kit that has Amphetamines in it; for emergency use to keep them awake.

My 1911s don't stovepipe. The ones that do fall into two categories:
1. Ancient GI pistols that are loose and poorly cared for.
2. Cheap knockoffs. Good luck with a 400 dollar brand spanking new 1911

Try finding a gas station who will front you a gas can these days. If you're lucky, they'll sell you one for about double retail.

Did you carry a bacon stretcher and a smoke shifter?

Ya, they tried to pull the Bacon Stretcher one on Me. Before I was a Boy Scout I was a Cub Scout and someone had already told Me about that.

The other one was a Snipe Hunt. You were supposed to bring a Cloth Bag and a Flashlight and they would send Kids off somewhere at night and they were supposed to bring a Snipe back in their Bag.

We would bring the kids out with the bags, tell them they were the catchers and we were the beaters. Us beaters would go out in the woods and beat the brush and drive the snipe back to them....
Then we would make a little noise in the woods and head back to camp...

I had older brothers, so I got the low down before it happened to me.

Smoke shifter worked great on jamborees... most everyone knew the gag, and would send the new scouts to a different campsite, as they had just loaned theirs out. Some determined kids would go to a dozen or more camps before coming back.
Was actually a great way for new kids to get to meet other scouts.

Have you ever carried a full gas can in the trunk? I did. Once. Seems they all leak or have a vent or something but the gas stink gave me a headache.

One of the carpenters at a big company I worked for was a real character. He would practically haze young guys trying to break into the trade. Once we had two different jobs about a block apart in SF's Pacific Heights, and he sent a young guy over to the other job to borrow some toe nails and a board stretcher.

The supe told the guy, "Oops, I'm sorry, you've been had."

Yeppers, I have, in years gone by.

That said, I would not even consider using one of the Ralph Nader nanny style plastic gas containers that seem to be all that is available these days. Those things are a hazard, and I would not have one in my car, garage, or storage building. I have a couple of proper metal gas cans which were purchased at antique stores. About all I use them for these days is for lawn mower gas. Back when I lived up at Frostbite Falls and traveled the north woods in all sorts of winter weather, I always carried two or three gallons of gas. Lots of people did.

Remember, we're talking about a snowstorm kit here. Something you probably will never need out there in sunny Berkeleygradsk.

But what you don't know comrade, is that I take regular trips to the motherland as part of our crusade to re-establish the glorious union of Soviet Russia, and it gets cold in some of those parts.
