Well, you just let her down easy now, and be sure that she gets the word to stop hovering over her phone awaiting your call.

DUDE! The guy was NOT instrument competent, and there is NOTHING in your link that indicates otherwise! WHY is that so difficult for you to understand?

Half of an instrument course, does NOT an instrument pilot make!

Let me ask you this, if the CFI quoted above, had told you what he said about Johns capability, would YOU have flown with him on that route, on that night?

If your answer is yes, God help you.
Where did the CFI state that it was elitist idiocy??
Of course, after the accident, his CFI would say that he wouldn't 'feel comfortable' with the flight....
We will never know what he said to JFK Jr before the accident...

You see Larry, I have read the entire report, and although there are indications that the decision to fly that night was not a good one, I have yet to see anything supporting your allegations that the decision was made by a cocky, elitist, know-it-all.
As usual, you are trying to back away from your completely unfounded assertions and made up BS to reframe your argument into something which is only borderline ridiculous.....

What were the flight conditions again??? IFR or VFR??

Welcome to the Larry Vortex, where facts get into the way of good old prejudice. JFK Jr. was an overprivileged liberal who never did anything right in his life. The sooner that you surrender to this truth, the sooner that Larry can be at peace and stop seeing members of the Aryan Brotherhood under his bed.

bullshlt.

If you are considerably different than you make yourself out to be on this forum, then id be very surprised. If you WERE, that would indicate a fundamental dishonesty about your character since all you do is describe how great you are, and if you AREN'T, the claim that you are different is nothing less than another lie. so which is it?

IMO, the way average people act on the internet is in many ways more telling of them as people than if you meet them in person. They don't feel the social restraints of a conversation in person, and those restraints get thrown off, exposing who the person really is much more clearly in pure thought and text.

What do I know about you? I know a lot more than I actually want to know, unless all your self promotion was actually not descriptive of you and you were lying as its a game to you? If you recall, that's what your argument was a while back.
You are one of the only people on this forum who spends half their time pontificating about your personal values and qualities, and the other half of the time in easily discredited character assassination attacks on public figures.
What does this tell other people about your personality? a hell of a lot.

Dream up whatever scenarios you wish so you can feel justified in gloating about his death...
I do not know if you are a pilot or not. I am not, but have been in the aviation business for over twenty years. The scenario painted in the NTSB report is one where the probability of arriving alive for an unrated or inexperienced pilot is very low. Overconfidence of beginning pilots or infrequent pilots is why the GA accident rate is so high, compared to air commerce.

Like JFK jr or not, he was on a fools flight and he was in command. thusly, he is responsible for the deaths of his passengers.

I met JFK jr once, in Clarksdale, MS at the Sunflower River Blues Fest, he was staying with a friend of mine, whose family was a big plantation owner in the delta. He was as most of his ilk, not actually aware of the realities of unsheltered life. A decent enough guy, but even decent people can be overconfident, and aviation is an area where you are NOT rewarded positively for overconfindence and inexperience.

Fake IDs a felony? On what planet?
Operative word in your statement - 'seems'
Believe that it 'seems' that way to you because you do not like Obama.
Did it 'seem' that way to you for Bush W or Reagan?

Here's how Mr. Obama stacks up against more recent Presidents, if he keeps pace with 168 vacation days over eight years. President George W. Bush took all or part of 297 days at his Texas ranch. Bill Clinton took 174 days at Martha's Vineyard and Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Ronald Reagan vacationed 349 days at his California ranch over eight years.

Fake id can easily equate to felony impersonation.
Heck, even AZ is poised to make online impersonation a felony....
Guess there's a dozen where it is already.

According to the Arizona Republic, State Rep. Michelle Ugenti, (R-Scottsdale) will introduce a bill that would make it a felony to use another person’s name with the intention to “harm, defraud, intimidate or threaten,” including spoofing an e-mail or text with similar devious motives.
Arizona set to make online impersonation a felony | Ars Technica

If someone were to use a fake ID, get served alcohol, then kill someone behind the wheel, who do you think the lawsuits would be aimed at?
The person with the fake ID, or the business which served them?
Certainly meets the criteria of 'harm'.

I don't think too many people are arguing against the fact that it was foolish at best. Blaming it on toddler years though? I bet he was breast fed and slept in the same bed as his parents as an infant!

no argument there, I have the same impression of Kennedy clan members.

However, do you think his death was born of the attitude he learned living in the white house when he was 3?

Of course he's more complex than his internet persona, who isn't? I would bet that if you met Larry in person, you would find a kinder, gentler, more layered soul than you see on this forum. Let's face it - the perceived anonymity of the internet allows all of us a little more freedom to write things that we would rarely say to another person's face. You think that I'm this much of a sarcastic smartass in person as I am here?

Umm...okay, bad example...

didn't say that. The Kennedys were larger than life, though and I am sure that would affect the attitude of anyone growing up thusly. Hell, he had a billionaire stepfather. People like that live in a different world and a lot is taken for granted.

WOW! If I could just make that purchase and sale. I could give the US a fresh financial start!

Not sure that the probability is as high as one would like, but saying it is very low....
If the probability were that low, he would not have been allowed to make the flight in the first place.
He had made the same flight at night 5 times previously.

No doubt that he is responsible for the deaths of his passengers, as well as his own.
Calling him a fool or a cocky, elitist, know-it-all snob would appear to be unjustified and pointless.
Unless the hatred of his family runs so deep that wishing ill and defaming the dead become acceptable behavior.
